In the next episode, we will see Sylphie confessing her love to Rudeus. After hearing her say that, Rudeus decides to tell her that he loves her too. But it reminds him of Eris. Thinking back, he questions himself if he ever told Eris he loves her. Eris told him she wanted him to be his family, and Rudeus told her he wanted that, too.
But she gets the feeling that he doesn’t love her. He thinks that maybe Eris disappeared because he never spoke those words. So he forgets everything and tells Sylphie that he loves her too. And then he kisses Sylphie.
When Rudeus goes further than that (if you know, you know), it once again reminds him of Eris. He thinks that if he screws up again, what happened before might happen again. So he can’t afford to screw it this time. He doesn’t ever want to feel like he did with Eris again, so he really can’t screw it up.
But when he goes to touch Sylphie, it instantly reminds him of Eris like a nightmare. He hears Eris’s voice saying, “Rudeus you and I are not the same anymore, and that’s I’m leaving alone on a journey.” After hearing that, Rudeus gets hunted, so he doesn’t do anything with Sylphie and apologizes to her for causing such embarrassment.
Sylphie thinks that it must be because of her body that Rudeus refuses to do anything. But Rudeus tells her that there is nothing wrong with her figure. He tells Sylphie it is because something happened three years ago, and that is also the reason why he joined the university.
