Attack on Titan is a Japanese manga-based anime written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. The story revolves around the people of a remote island who got invaded by giant man-eaters, Titans. The major protagonist of the show, Eren Yaeger, lost everything in this invasion, including his family. He pledged to exterminate each and every titan from this world; however certain mysteries unfold as the story progresses and the life of Eren Yaeger turns upside down.
Here is the complete list of the most loved characters of Shingeki no Kyojin.
11. Jean Kirstein
Jean Kirstein is one of the prominent characters of Attack on Titan. Even though he got overshadowed by major characters initially, he somehow got accepted by fans as he is one of the most practical characters, and everyone can relate to this character somehow. Even though Reiner and his team killed his best friend Marco, he didn’t lose his ground and showed a very high mature persona. Jean is indeed one of the great characters of the series.
10. Annie Leonheart
Annie’s role in the series is very impactful, and she is one of the most skilled characters in Attack on Titan. There are lots of mysteries and twists that come with this character and certainly add layers of excitement and intense moments. At times, you will connect with this character, and there will also be the moments in the series when you really hate her. Still, she will leave a great impact on you until the end, which makes her a wonderful character in the series.

9. Connie Springer
Connie Springer is the subordinate of Sasha and Jean, and he is undoubtedly one of the most loved characters of the series. There are many moments in the series when he actually played a very prominent role. He was in various controversies in the last part; however, he is famous for making decisions calmly and with full focus. Connie Springer is someone who will make you love him across your AOT journey. His dedication and love toward his mother are very special and unique, and you will definitely praise him for such kind of dedication.
8. Hange Zoe
Hange is one of the most important characters in Attack on Titan and also one of the commanders of the Scout Corps regiment. Her curiosity about titans or say any new thing is endless. She is also one of the smartest characters of the series and probably the one who knows more than anyone about Titans (of course, less than Eren). Sometimes her childish behavior looks refreshing to watch, and she is the one who won’t bore you whenever she appears on the screen. Her multipurpose role in the series made her one of the fan-favorite characters of the series.
7. Dot Pixis
Dot Pixis was the top-ranking officer in the Garrison regiment and one of the most underrated characters in the series. Even though he didn’t play a major role in the storyline, he was one of the characters who made an appearance in Season 1. He had the habit of drinking liquor, and you can say that this habit became the reason for his death. He unintentionally drank the wine which contained Zeke’s spinal fluid, due to which he transformed into Titan on Zeke’s order. Lastly, he was killed by Armin and his team, but he left his undeniable memories for us. Pixis was also a great strategist and soldier.
6. Hannes
Hannes may not be the most skilled character in Attack on Titan, but he was someone very close to Eren and his friends. He was the one who rescued Eren and Mikasa when the titans invaded their homeland. Hannes was the one who encouraged them to become stronger and avenge what they lost now. After the death of Hannes by the smiling titan, this was very tragedic for Eren and kind of marked the beginning of exploring the founder’s powers. At this time only, Eren used the powers of Founders unknowingly. This much dedication of Hannes towards his own people is the reason why he is loved by millions of fans worldwide.
5. Bertholdt Hoover
Just like Annie and Reiner, Berholdt was also the man behind the destruction of walls. He was also the former colossal titan as well. Even though they did absolutely wrong, Bertholdt never considered the people of Paradis his eternal enemies. Instead, it seems that what he did was due to pressure from Reiner. He also developed feeling for the people of Paradis, and at one time, it really felt unexpected that how could he ever do this in the first place.
4. Sasha Blouse
Sasha Blouse, also known as the potato girl, is one of the most loved characters of Attack on Titan. Her eternal dedication to food seems very related. She is also very brave and someone who won’t run from her fears. She saved many lives throughout her life. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to her in the end. Gabi killed Sasha in the end, and that was really heartbreaking for her fans. We all know that after Season 3, Part 2, Attack on Titan shifted in the other way and ultimately broke the barriers between good and evil. Everything depends on our perspective and what Gabi did was not pure evil at all, at least from her own perspective.
3. Armin Arlert
Armin is one of the smartest childhood friends of Mikasa and Eren. He helped many characters in the series to form smart strategies, and many times, he altered the whole game just by his intelligence. Even though his fighting skills are not that superior, he still played a major role in the series. He still has many pending achievements, and we have to wait for Season 4 Part 3 to know about his contributions.
2. Erwin Smith
Erwin Smith, perhaps the smartest character of the series, can’t settle less than this position. His utmost skills, dedication, and IQ is enough to land him among the top characters of the series. Many times, he changed the whole game just by his strategies, plans, and executions. His speeches can fuel anyone with courage and motivation. All and all, he was one of the rarest characters who always fought for what was right. Unfortunately, he was killed in the fierce battle against Beast Titan.
1. Levi Ackerman
Well, if you are an AOT fan, you can’t deny the fact that Levi is something else. Being an Ackerman, his skills and fighting spirit is on another level. No titan has the guts and power to shake Levi. He tormented the Beast Titan himself multiple times. Levi has no sympathy for titans, and he can kill a number of titans at the same time. He is also one of the prominent characters of the series who played a major role in the development of the storyline from the first season and has a major role in the last season as well. Unfortunately, our hero got injured badly at the end of Season 4 Part 1, but he was successfully rescued by Hanji, and now he is barely moving.
Bonus Point: Eren Yaeger
Eren Yaeger is the major protagonist and antagonist of the series. We intentionally put this point in this separate point as the preference of this character based on how you see him and the actions he is currently doing. He has started the rumbling with his powers, and now he is all set to kill thousands of innocents in Marley. We are not even saying that Eren is doing this for his own happiness. Instead, he has suffered more than anyone else. He lost everything due to Marley’s greed for power and will to expand. The series almost destroyed the barriers of good and evil, and everything depends on the perspective.
There is a very high possibility that you may disagree with some points in this article, but this article is totally based on the author’s own POV. Your views and preferences are equally respected.
