Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance has won an award in the Future Division at the Japan Game Awards 2026, giving Capcom’s upcoming expansion another major recognition ahead of its planned 2027 release.
The award, presented by the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association, recognizes unreleased games that were announced or exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2026 and generated significant anticipation among players. Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance stood out after attracting strong interest from attendees, including visitors who experienced its playable demo at TGS 2026.
As a major expansion to Monster Hunter Wilds, the upcoming release will build on the hunting action game that originally launched in February 2025. Capcom has not yet announced a specific release date, but the expansion is scheduled to arrive in 2027.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
The Future Division award reflects both user interest and evaluation from a selection committee. With the expansion now recognized before launch, Capcom says it remains committed to meeting player expectations through its game development capabilities.
