Bandai Namco has revealed the first in-depth look at BLEACH: Mirrors High with a new Overview Trailer released on July 18.

The video showcases the upcoming mobile action game’s core combat mechanics while introducing three new original Soul Reapers designed by BLEACH creator Tite Kubo. Their addition expands the game’s original cast, which previously consisted of only two newly introduced protagonists.

Tite Kubo Takes a Hands-On Role in BLEACH: Mirrors High

BLEACH: Mirrors High is more than a typical mobile adaptation of the long-running anime and manga series.

Kubo also revealed that he became so invested in designing the new characters that he created more than what the development team initially requested. His involvement extended beyond the artwork, as he also participated in voice auditions and recording sessions to ensure each character matched his original vision.

That level of creative input is reflected throughout the newly released Overview Trailer. Instead of relying only on familiar characters and storylines, the game introduces a brand-new cast and an original story that expands the world of BLEACH after the Thousand-Year Blood War.

New Soul Reapers Expand the Original Story

The story of BLEACH: Mirrors High takes place after the Thousand-Year Blood War arc. It follows a mysterious soul that awakens in Karakura Town, where players create their own Soul Reaper and become part of a new adventure alongside original characters created by Kubo.

The game’s first two original protagonists, Shirin Migishima and Shirane Sanari, were introduced during Anime Expo 2026. The latest Overview Trailer expands that cast by introducing three additional Soul Reapers designed by Kubo.

The newly revealed characters include Naru Jurinna (voiced by Fūka Izumi), Giro Hando (voiced by Shōgo Batori), and Maiko Tokishima (voiced by Yū Sasahara). They will fight alongside familiar heroes such as Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, and Renji Abarai, combining an original storyline with the series’ established cast.

Card-Based Combat and Deep Character Customizatio/h2n

The new Overview Trailer also offers the first detailed look at the game’s combat system. Rather than focusing entirely on real-time action, BLEACH: Mirrors High features a strategic card-based battle system that lets players build teams of three characters and combine cards to launch attacks and powerful special abilities.

Players can trigger Soul Drive, a team-up finisher that unleashes coordinated attacks, while well-timed combinations activate Chain Attacks and stronger Link Attacks. The system adds a layer of strategy that encourages players to carefully plan their moves instead of relying only on fast-paced action.

Outside of battle, customization plays a major role in the experience. Players can personalize nearly every aspect of their Soul Reaper, including hairstyles, facial features, body type, and eye color. They can also create a unique Zanpakutō by customizing the blade, guard, hilt, decorative elements, and visual effects.
