Season 2 will consist of six episodes, continuing from the first season’s cliffhanger as Mizu travels to England in search of the remaining men connected to her past. Her journey will introduce unfamiliar enemies and force her to navigate a society with its own prejudices and dangers.

Creators Amber Noizumi and Michael Green discussed the historical setting in an interview with Netflix Tudum. They explained that

“London in 1657 had a thriving culture of illicit activity,”

creating parallels with the world established in the first season.

Meanwhile, the story will continue in Japan. Akemi, voiced by Brenda Song, and Taigen, voiced by Darren Barnet, will navigate the political dangers of Edo Castle under a new Shogun. Ringo, played by Masi Oka, will also search for a different purpose.

New Cast Members and Season 3 Plans

Maya Erskine returns as Mizu, joined by new voice cast members Jonathan Pryce as Old Violet, Joel Kim Booster as Priest Ando, and Sherry Cola as Kuma.

Amber Noizumi and Michael Green created the series and return as writers and executive producers. Blue Spirit remains the animation studio, with Jane Wu serving as supervising director and producer.

Netflix has also renewed Blue Eye Samurai for a third season, which is planned as the show’s final chapter in 2028. The series has received major industry recognition, including four Creative Arts Emmy Awards and six Annie Awards for its first season.
