Capcom’s latest financial results show that Monster Hunter Rise continues to be one of the publisher’s strongest-selling titles, reinforcing the long-term popularity of the Monster Hunter franchise. According to Capcom’s first-quarter fiscal year 2026 report, the action RPG has now reached 18.6 million copies sold worldwide, extending its position among the company’s best-selling games.
The updated sales figure comes as Capcom reported another strong quarter driven by both new releases and older catalog titles. While Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata contributed significantly to recent revenue, the company emphasized that its catalog business continues to perform at a record pace.
Established franchises such as Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Devil May Cry remained key contributors to digital game sales, helping Capcom sell more than 23.8 million games during the quarter.
Monster Hunter Rise continues strong sales years after launch
Originally released in 2021 for Nintendo Switch before expanding to additional platforms, Monster Hunter Rise remains one of Capcom’s most successful modern releases.
The latest figures place the game at 18.6 million lifetime sales, making it one of the publisher’s top-selling titles behind Monster Hunter: World, which continues to lead Capcom’s all-time rankings with 30.45 million copies sold.
Capcom’s report also shows the broader Monster Hunter series has now surpassed 131 million units sold worldwide. Continued support for the franchise, along with sustained interest in older games, has helped maintain steady catalog sales years after their original releases.

Capcom noted that catalog titles delivered a record quarterly performance, with long-running franchises continuing to attract new players. The company highlighted strong demand across its flagship series, including Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, and Devil May Cry.
Interest in the Monster Hunter brand has also remained high following the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds, while Capcom stated that the announcement of an upcoming expansion has further boosted attention toward the franchise.
Alongside Monster Hunter’s continued momentum, the Resident Evil series recently surpassed 213 million lifetime sales, illustrating the strength of Capcom’s established game library.
With 18.6 million copies sold, Monster Hunter Rise continues to rank among the publisher’s biggest commercial successes and demonstrates that Capcom’s catalog strategy remains a major source of long-term growth.
