Later in the chapter, we see that Keiji Itami says that Narumi has been kicked out of his platoon eight times for tardiness, absence, rule violations, and disorderly conduct, and that is why he believes that he is punk one wrong step away from being discharged, however, seeing Isao like this Keiji thinks that he surely is a deal.
With this, Isao Shinomiya says that he is sure that Narumi will become the backbone of the first unit; however, he still lacks the experience of both victory and defeat, and that is why he thinks that he should continue to stand as a wall.
Isao Shinomiya says that he can not be seen in such an unsightly state; not only Narumi becomes the real deal.
After seeing him like this, Keiji says to himself what Young Isao will think after seeing this because the seed he sowed has indeed sprouted, and he is finally on his way to becoming the “Real Deal.”
When the flashback ends, we see Narumi and Isao Shinomiya; where Narumi, who is all beaten up, asks him if he has finally shed a tear or two while mentioning that he can not even imagine how he will look while crying.
Monster #8 Chapter 89: Spoilers and Expectations
The scene cuts to the Chofu Airport, where we see that Soshiro Hoshina is still fighting Kaiju No.11, but this time Shoshiro is having a tough time. When Konomi Okonogi notices this, she thinks that she has never seen anything like that because Vice Commander Hoshina is being overwhelmed by a small monster.
Okonogi says that with such power, speed, and combat abilities, it is outclassed #10 in all aspects, and that is why she concludes that this thing is the final version and not any kind of prototype because he is better in all regards.
