The newest buzz in town is Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Chris Black’s recently released monster series. This highly anticipated program will be published as the sixth MonsterVerse film. This series, which continues where Godzilla (2014) left off, has it all, from giant creatures known as Titans to terrifying monsters.
The production has brought out the major guns, like Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, Kurt Russell, and many more. Anna Sawai plays Cate Randa, Ren Watabe plays Kentaro Randa, and Kiersey Clemons plays May Olowe-Hewitt.
The show is currently airing its first season, and it is garnering a lot of support from viewers who seem to enjoy the complex characters and the way the plot has evolved. After a full year has passed since Godzilla’s return, the half-siblings Cate and Kentaro Randa are trying to solve the mystery behind their father Hiroshi’s absence when the episode premieres in 2015.
Recap
Algeria is the starting point of episode 7. Tim finds that he is the only member of his crew still alive when he wakes up at the scene of the helicopter crash. He encounters Cate and Kentaro as he makes his way back to the airport. Even though May bought them all tickets home, the three of them are still awkward.
May uses the restrooms as a mental health break, but on the way, her former employers kidnap her. While looking for her companion at the airport, Cate discovers May’s stuff left behind in the restrooms. Cate fears the worst since she knows May wouldn’t just walk away without her phone and passport.
She thinks she is a captive held by the Monarch. In the airport foyer, Cate immediately challenges Tim. To foster some degree of confidence between the adversaries, Tim refutes the charges and talks about his time spent working with Hiroshi. It seems to Tim that Hiroshi is attempting to stop another G-Day from occurring.
To locate May, Cate begs Tim on behalf of Monarch. She offers to assist them in tracking down the renegade Lee Shaw in exchange. Kentaro isn’t very concerned about locating Hiroshi anymore, and he still doesn’t trust Tim or Monarch. But Cate begs him to persevere so she can find May.
Tim tells Verdugo about the Godzilla attack over the phone. While Tim feels Verdugo is wasting his time, he requests a debriefing. He gets suspended for his impudence after retaliating with an argument. Verdugo is informed by Tim that, at all costs, he will assist the children in finding May.
As everything is going on, Lee and Duvall seize control of one of Monarch’s bases at Outpost 88 in Alaska. After observing this act of terrorism, Dr. Barnes flees and hides. Reminding her supervisor of the deteriorating situation, she calls Verdugo. While this is going on, Lee and Duvall begin to accumulate the explosives on base.

The mission assigned to Cate and her devoted followers is to locate Lee Shaw. The Colonel just destroyed an alien Rift by taking control of Monarch’s explosives. He won’t be that difficult to locate, surely? To further her covert intentions to simultaneously locate Hiroshi, Cate will enlist the aid of Monarch.
The group will locate Lee Shaw in one of the numerous Titan locations located all around the world. Not far behind will be Hiroshi.
I hope the show will also use the 1950s timeline. Observing the growing romantic triangle involving Lee, Keiko, and Bill will be fascinating. There is still a ton of plot to work out before Keiko and Bill get together and Keiko dies in the late 1950s.
