Marvel’s much-anticipated project for 2025, “Daredevil: Born Again,” just got a thrilling update at the D23 event. During the showcase, stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Deborah Ann Woll, and Elden Henson discussed the upcoming Disney+ series.
The show recently completed filming, and Cox shared that it will be released in March 2025. Though the exact date is not set, Cox confirmed that Season 2 is already being planned and will begin filming soon.
The spring release for “Daredevil: Born Again” is scheduled for the same time slot previously occupied by X-Men ’97. The event also featured a first look at the series, showing Cox returning as Daredevil, a role he played in the Netflix series and recently in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Echo.
The Emotional Development of “Daredevil: Born Again” Will Outpace That of the Original Series
D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Kingpin, also seen in Echo. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson will return as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. Jon Bernthal, who recently earned an Oscar nomination for “The Bear,” will be back as the Punisher.
Collider’s Aidan Kelley and Taylor Gates, who attended the event, reported that Daredevil will have multiple masks in the new series. They also saw a preview of White Tiger and a fresh fight scene between Cox’s Matt Murdock and Bernthal’s Frank Castle.
The new footage suggested a David vs. Goliath scenario between Daredevil and Kingpin, with people going missing while law enforcement does nothing.
When “Daredevil: Born Again” was first announced, many fans were concerned that the series might shift to a TV-13 rating, unlike the original show’s TV-MA rating. The original show’s violence was a major factor in its success on Netflix.
However, Marvel Studios Head of Television and Streaming Brad Winderbaum reassured fans that “Daredevil: Born Again” will keep the TV-MA rating.
Winderbaum promised the series will make full use of this rating, offering a mature storyline that reflects today’s societal issues. The new series will present more intense physical and emotional challenges for its characters.
“Daredevil: Born Again” is set to premiere in March 2025. Keep following Otakukart for more updates on the series, and you can stream the original “Daredevil” exclusively on Disney+.
