In the British television show Married at First Sight, a group of experts “scientifically” matches couples. Only a few minutes before their wedding, they first met. Following their return, they spend some time living together before deciding whether or not to keep their relationship going. During this time, they attend commitment ceremonies. The first pair to jointly commemorate their first wedding anniversary was Series 5’s Owen and Michelle, who did so on March 14, 2021.
Using the format of its Australian counterpart, the program will move to Channel 4’s sister channel E4 in 2021, it was revealed on November 24th, 2020. This follows the hugely successful airing of the latter on E4. It has been renewed for a lengthier seventh season of 30 episodes due to the popularity of Series 6.
Following the popularity of the sixth series, an extended thirty-episode edition in the same style was commissioned. This time, the cast includes two same-sex couples, one male and one female. In Episodes 1, 2, 4, and 5, two couples were matched and married. In a first for the franchise, two more couples married and joined the experiment in Episode 12. On August 29th, 2022, the first episode aired, followed by a “One Year Later” special episode featuring part of Series 6’s actors. The Dinner Parties and Commitment Ceremonies were relocated from Brighton to Trinity Quay Wharf in London’s Docklands for this series.

Recap Of The Previous Episodes
The experiment to see if science can make people fall in love is back, and Mel Schilling, Paul C. Brunson, and Charlene Douglas are ready to help 16 eager singles find their perfect match. They get to spend their final night of freedom together at the best stag and hen parties, where a surprise awaits them before these strangers walk down the aisle. Four more strangers make the ultimate bet on love by getting married to a stranger. An overly protective buddy tries to ruin the big day for a groom and his new husband, while one bride receives more than she bargained for.
The experiment’s second phase starts when the first four couples leave on lavish honeymoons in the sun. A fugitive bride may leave one groom stuck after his unexpected declaration, while a twice-married single mother longs to discover true love. Four more individuals choose to marry a stranger, but while one bride-to-be wants to meet the lady of her dreams, another’s unrealistic expectations might spell tragedy. The next batch of newlyweds jets off to sunny locales, but while some look forward to having fun in the sun, others find their first vacation together far from idyllic.
All of the couples enter a new chapter in the experiment as they gather for their first dinner party under the careful eye of specialists Mel, Paul, and Charlene. The couples have arrived for the first Commitment Ceremony, where they will meet with professionals to examine their marriages and make a key decision. As the couples move in and begin living together for the first time, the experts assign them an exercise to study power dynamics in their marriages.
Two grooms show up by themselves at the second supper meeting of the experiment. It becomes hotter thanks to the Honesty Box challenge. There is a second Commitment Ceremony, and this time Mel, Paul, and Charlene are available to the couples to ask them about their week. Nevertheless, crucial choices must be made. Two brand-new surprise couples are introduced to one another as wedding bells ring once again. One groom, though, has second-guessing at the last minute, while another pair learns they are dating.
