NEXON is celebrating the first anniversary of MapleStory: Idle RPG with a major content update featuring new playable classes, limited-time events, and additional progression opportunities. Announced on November 5, 2026, the celebration introduces the 1st Anniversary Salon, which runs until December 16 and gives players several ways to earn upgrade materials, strengthen their characters, and collect exclusive equipment.
Co-developed by NEXON and Able Games, MapleStory: Idle RPG brings the popular MapleStory franchise to mobile devices through an incremental RPG experience. Its characters continue fighting and gaining experience through automated battles, allowing players to progress even when they are away from the game.
The anniversary update also introduces Dawn Warrior and Blaze Wizard, two new Cygnus Knights classes. Alongside these additions, NEXON is introducing a cooperative growth challenge involving groups of 30 players, a special boss encounter against Lord Balrog, and new dungeons and guild activities.
MapleStory: Idle RPG Introduces Anniversary Missions and Chaos Ring
The 1st Anniversary Salon features several activities designed to reward regular participation. Through the Special Mission system, players can complete daily objectives to earn 1st Anniversary Pocket Watch and 1st Anniversary Points.
Completing additional missions unlocks more growth resources, including 1st Anniversary Special Coins. Players can exchange their accumulated points for these coins and other progression materials.
The Salon Ring Workshop also introduces the Chaos Ring, a special event accessory that players can upgrade themselves. Using Chaos Ring Enhancers obtained through daily and achievement missions, players can improve its equipment grade and modify its sub-options. Once upgraded, the Chaos Ring Exchange Ticket converts it into permanent equipment for the ring slot.
Another major bonus is the 1000% Special Power Hour, which increases EXP gains by 1000% for one hour once per day.
The anniversary shops will remain available until December 18, offering rewards such as a Legendary Artifact Selector Ticket, Legendary Companion Summoning Ticket, and Star Force Stage 17 Enhancer.
30-Player Growth Challenge Introduces Lord Balrog Boss
NEXON is also introducing a dedicated Growth Challenge for New Players, designed to help newcomers develop their characters through cooperative progression. Accounts created after November 5 can register once their characters reach Level 30.
Participants are placed into groups of up to 30 players and work together for 60 days to complete level-based, challenge, and repeatable missions. Their accumulated Challenge Points unlock progression benefits, including additional free Growth Dungeon ticket refills and reduced upgrade times. Players also receive daily EXP bonuses depending on their rankings within their groups.
The challenge features an exclusive boss encounter against Lord Balrog. Every participant contributes damage towards the group’s shared boss health, with individual and collective performance determining rewards. Players can earn growth materials and the exclusive Growth Challenge Outfit set.
New characters also receive additional progression support through the New Character Growth Event, which runs until January 6, 2027. Its rewards cover two level ranges, 30–70 and 70–100, and include Growth Potions that instantly increase a character’s level when used at designated levels.
Dawn Warrior and Blaze Wizard Join MapleStory: Idle RPG
The anniversary update introduces two Cygnus Knights classes with different combat abilities.

Dawn Warrior: A warrior who channels the power of the Spirit of Soul and uses light-based attacks.

Blaze Wizard: A mage who inherits the Spirit of Flame’s abilities to command fire.
Existing players can also use the new Class Change feature to switch to either class.
Additional content includes Monster Park Extreme, a new dungeon supporting parties of up to four players with substantial EXP rewards. Guild Bounties also introduces new guild activities, offering equipment sub-option reconfiguration items and stat-enhancing scrolls.
The anniversary update gives returning players and newcomers several progression opportunities while expanding the game’s class roster and cooperative activities. Players can download MapleStory: Idle RPG through the App Store and Google Play.
