The long-awaited Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake could finally return to the spotlight in 2026, according to a new report from a well-known Star Wars insider. Insider Claims New Reveal Is Planned
According to 100% Star Wars, Saber Interactive has been making significant progress on the remake over the past three years.

“A reveal later this year has been planned,”
adding that development has been
“going extremely smoothly over the past three years since Saber started from scratch.”
The report also states that Saber has recruited experienced developers from across the industry and is utilizing talent from multiple internal studios to support the remake’s production.
While these claims have not been confirmed by Saber Interactive or Lucasfilm Games, they align with previous comments suggesting the project remains in active development.
Release Window Reportedly Shifts to 2028
The same report suggests the remake’s original best-case release target was mid-to-late 2027, coinciding with Star Wars’ 50th anniversary. However, the game is now reportedly expected to launch in 2028, which would mark the 25th anniversary of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Developed by BioWare and released in 2003, KOTOR is widely regarded as one of the greatest Star Wars games ever made. Its acclaimed story, memorable characters, and RPG systems have kept fan interest alive for more than two decades, making the remake one of the industry’s most anticipated projects.
