ARC Raiders Store Update 1.38.0 is now live across all platforms, bringing new cosmetic additions alongside the first phase of matchmaking improvements. While the update is relatively small in size, it introduces changes aimed at improving the overall multiplayer experience, especially during off-peak hours and in regions with lower player counts.
Players who already own the Torpedo outfit will automatically receive two new color variants—Camo and Black—without needing to restart the game.
The update also marks the start of a new Expedition Departure, giving players another opportunity to begin a fresh run and earn Mystery Rewards. Embark Studios encouraged players to share their latest Expedition rewards while pointing newcomers to its Expedition guide for a refresher on how the seasonal progression system works.
Although Store Update 1.38.0 primarily focuses on cosmetics and matchmaking, it also builds on issues and fixes addressed in the previous week’s Store Update 1.37.0.
Matchmaking improvements headline Store Update 1.38.0
The biggest gameplay change in Store Update 1.38.0 is the rollout of matchmaking optimization tests. According to Embark Studios,
“We’ve heard your feedback on matchmaking. It works well most of the time, but there is room for improvement — especially during low-population hours, in certain regions, or in specific map conditions.”
The developer explained that the updated matchmaking algorithm may take slightly longer to find a game because it is prioritizing fairer matches. The goal is to consistently pair players with squads that better match their playstyle and party size, creating more balanced raids.
Embark also confirmed it will closely monitor matchmaking data and community feedback before deciding on further adjustments.
Store Update 1.37.0 laid the groundwork for this week’s release by introducing two free Driftcoat outfit color variants while addressing several community concerns. The studio confirmed it is still working on fixes for the Seeker Grenade issue and the unintended automatic Departure registration tied to the “Deal Damage” challenge.
It also continued enforcement against players who abused the recent duplication exploit, issuing warnings, removing illegitimate items, and suspending accounts involved in severe cases while emphasizing that players who were only indirectly affected would not face harsh penalties.
