Loot Season 1 Episode 10 Recap
On the way to Corsica, Sofia chats with her taxi driver and mentions she hasn’t traveled in a while. On the way, her driver argues against helping unhoused populations, so she gets out of the car in a less desirable area of the city and begins to walk to the airport. Corsica is full of mansions, supercomplexes, and pristine white beaches. Molly welcomes the office to their resort, brings them welcome drinks, and apologizes to Nicholas again for missing his play, he’s hurt, but he pretends not to be mad at her and goes to his room.
Sofia tries to talk to Molly about the water presentation later, but Molly tells her to relax. Neither of them notices Arthur watching her. Later, Howard, Nicholas, and Arthur cheer Howard for being free of Tanya. Arthur admits he ended things with Chelsea, and the boys are shocked. Arthur gets awkward when they ask him why he broke up with Chelsea, and he insists they find activities to do on the island. Meanwhile, Molly and Jean-Pierre go over their water filtration presentation. Sofia is unimpressed by Molly’s vanity and air-headedness and takes off alone.
Emotional Damage
With Howard and Nicholas in tow, Arthur checks out the botanical garden and gets emotional over seeing the perfect bird and reflecting on the beauty of life. Nicholas and Howard can clearly tell something is up with him, but Arthur heads on to the next activity regardless. On horseback on the beach, Arthur listens to Nicholas and Howard discuss their previous horseback riding experiences. He agrees to race them to the nearby rocks but immediately falls off his horse. Thankfully, he survives the fall with only a bruise.
Finally, Arthur comes clean about being in love with Molly. It’s the reason he broke up with Chelsea and the reason he’s been so miserable lately. Arthur is convinced that he doesn’t have a chance since Molly is used to dating a man in a much higher tax bracket. Howard and Nicholas convince Arthur that Jean Pierre is a bad influence and that he and Molly have some kind of chemistry worth exploring. Nicholas even mentions that Arthur could be good for Molly, and Howard advises him to tell her how he’s feeling before it eats him up inside.
What A Mess
Later, Molly tries to run her speech by Sofia and finally realizes something is up. Sofia admits she doesn’t think Molly should do the presentation and that they should focus on LA. She also calls Molly out for losing her vision and getting wrapped up in another man’s life again. Molly claims that nothing she does will ever be good enough for Sofia and says they should stop pretending they can work together. Molly throws her money in Sofia’s face, and Sofia storms out after telling her nothing she says matters anyway since Molly has the cash.
When the convention starts, Jean Pierre talks about his revolutionary water filtration system before introducing Molly. Molly brings out the rapper GaTa to test the water filtration system, but the system doesn’t work, and the water comes out a nasty, dirty, yellow color. Molly is embarrassed, but she drinks the full glass of water in front of the crowd. The water is clearly still dirty, and Molly runs off stage to throw up. After the convention, the news roasts Molly and other billionaires for investing money into a ridiculous scheme.
Con-Man
In her room after the presentation, Molly ignores a text from John and questions Jean-Pierre about the water machine. She asks him what they will do, and Jean-Pierre tells her that he will run without fulfilling any of his promises and lay low for a few years. The entire office gathers in the resort and reads a note left for Sofia by Molly. In the note, she apologizes for making their lives harder and resigns from working at the foundation. The office is disappointed and upset, but Sofia tells them to pack up and get ready to go back to LA.
Molly has a ginger ale on her private jet and is surprised by Sofia. Molly admits that she broke up with Jean-Pierre after finding out he was a sham, and Sofia tells her that she’s the glue that holds the foundation together. Without her, they aren’t a team. Despite wanting to hate her, Sofia reminds Molly that they need her and that she just can’t. They’re unstoppable with Sofia’s know-how about world issues and Molly’s connections. Sofia also opens up, tells Molly she can’t do this without her, and asks her to return to work.
Sofia & Molly
Sofia reminds Molly that the foundation won’t be an easy fix after the disaster, but Molly has an idea. She and Sofia crash the conference, and Molly heads up on stage. Molly speaks to the Silver Moon Summit about real solutions for real people, making Sofia and the office proud. Molly reminds the crowd that billionaires shouldn’t exist, shocking them. She thanks the office for helping her see the truth. Molly announces that from now on, she’ll be giving away all of her money, all 120 billion dollars, and she challenges other billionaires to do the same.
The End
After her speech, Molly gets another text from John asking to meet up. She’s gone viral again, this time for a good reason, and the office celebrates her accomplishment. Molly and Nicholas make up, and together everyone decides to get drunk in Corsica for their last night. Then everyone’s drunk, and Arthur eventually sees his chance to tell Molly how he feels. When he chats with her, they chat about her wanting a more normal life. Arthur says he has something to talk to her about, but in the morning, Molly wakes up in bed next to her ex-husband John.
