Kyoukai Senki Part 2 Episode 1: Release Date & Preview

With the start of the Spring quarter, there are many new anime coming out that have been anticipated for a long time now. Not only this, but many fans will be getting new seasons for their favorite anime too. Kyoukai Senki will be coming out with its Part 2 Episode 1 very soon. Also known as AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline, or War Machines on the Borderline, the first part of the anime was received well by mecha anime fans. However, they wished that the story wouldn’t end with Part 1 as they were eager to know what happens next to their favorite characters.

Kyoukai Senki is an original franchise by the producers of Bandai Spirits and Sunrise Beyond. It is an anime that belongs to the mecha as well as sci-fi and action themes. Its First Episode aired on 5th October 2021. The anime ran on till 28th December 2021. It consisted of 13 episodes, concluding the first part of the series.

Synopsis

As mentioned above, the anime falls under the mecha genre, thus, introducing us to a futuristic world. It tells us the story of post-war Japan, where in the country is divided into four different sections. However, instead of being glad that the war is over, these sectors fight against each other to be in absolute power over the country.

We are then introduced to our main protagonist Amou Shiiba, who is an orphan. Shiiba is seen working on rebuilding Kenbu. Kenbu is an old and abandoned AMAIM robot. The AMAIM robots were mecha machines that were used during the war. After a while, we come across an AI character named Gai who needs help from Shiiba. This act, however, turns into something dark as Shiiba is deemed a terrorist and kicked out of the society he was staying in. Fortunately, this doesn’t really dishearten him as he strives to fight against the injustice going on in society by becoming strong. Like every “mecha-shounen genre” anime, he comes across many friends and foes.

Production Crew

The studio animating the anime is Sunrise Beyond. This studio has previously worked on projects related to the anime Dr Stone, Fate/Grand Order, Fruits Basket, Psycho-Pass, and even Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia. Nobuyoshi Habara will be directing the series, while the scripts will be written by Noboru Kimura. Habara Nobuyoshi has worked as a Key Animator, Director as well as has storyboarded for various anime like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Shaman King, and the Break Blade series. Kimura Noboru has previously worked on the screenplay writing and scripts of the anime Doki Doki School Hours, Kemono Jigen, and Skate: Leading Stars.

Voice Acting Cast

The voice acting cast will be returning to voice the characters for the second cour. The main character Shiiba Amou will be voiced by Gen Satou, who has previously voiced the characters Chrome from Dr. Stone and Fumiya Tomozaki from Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-Kun. Natsumi Fujiwara, who has been a voice actor for the characters Sora Kurumatani from Ahiru no Sora and Abigail Jones from The Great Pretender, will be voicing Gai. Gashin Tezuka, one of the main protagonists, will be voiced by the actor Yuuto Uemura. Uemura is famous for voice acting for the characters Thorfinn from Vinland Saga, Atsushi Nakajima and Sakunosuke from Bungou Stray Dogs, Hiro from Darling in the Franxx, and Tamaki Amajiki from My Hero Academia.

Other main characters include Shion Shishibe, Nayuta, and Kei. These will be voiced by Kana Ichinose, Taishi Murata, and Yui Ishikawa, respectively. Ichinose Kana is best known for her voice acting for the characters Tuesday from the anime Carole and Tuesday and Ichigo from Darling in the Franxx. Murata Taishi has previously voiced the characters Konoha Akinori from Haikyuu!! and Shun Hashimoto from Umibe no Étranger. Lastly, Yui Ishikawa has been a voice actor for Mikasa Ackerman from Attack on Titan and Violet Evergarden from the anime Violet Evergarden.
