Kim Hyun Joong, formerly of SS501, recently found himself at the center of controversy amid allegations that he was soliciting money from his fans. On June 12, his agency Henecia quickly addressed these rumors, emphasizing that the actor-singer was a victim of fraud and cautioning fans against falling for impersonation scams.
Henecia clarified through a comment on his YouTube channel that:
“We are informing you that we have discovered a number of illegal skimming activities related to impersonating artists or agencies.”
They also stated firmly:
“We Henecia, would like to emphasize that we and our artists never ask for payment or money through personal contact with the fans. We never personally contact fans in any way other than official emails.”
This message was intended to prevent miscommunication and protect fans from potential scams. Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong has been enjoying a quieter life away from the entertainment industry, immersing himself in rural activities.
In a recent vlog shared on his YouTube channel, he provided a look into his life on the farm, where he has taken up small-scale farming.
The star revealed that he has become deeply involved in agricultural work, cultivating his own land, which he purchased for approximately $144,600 (200 million KRW).
His vlogs show him engaging hands-on in farming activities, reflecting his serious commitment to his new venture. The produce he grows is sold on the market, turning this unexpected hobby into a profitable business.
Despite this shift to farming, Kim Hyun Joong has not abandoned his entertainment career entirely. However, Henecia has not announced any specific plans or schedules for his return to the stage or screen, indicating that he is taking his time to enjoy his break.
