“Lol … Believe it or not I’ve done more work on the inside,” the 39-year-old reality star captioned an Instagram video on Monday, December 30. “You can’t physically see that, but I’ve never felt it more.” Bristowe shared a video comparing a photo from 2015, when she began her Bachelor Nation journey, to a more recent image, set to “We Are Not the Same Person” by Danny Gonzalez and Drew Gooden.
“To those who love to comment, ‘You were so much prettier before all the work you’ve had done,’ I recommend doing the important work on the inside before judging what’s on the outside,” Bristowe added.
The video appeared to subtly address ongoing critiques of her appearance. Bristowe, who rose to fame on The Bachelor and later as The Bachelorette, has often faced public scrutiny about her looks. She has never shied away from confronting these remarks and setting the record straight.
In June 2021, Bristowe addressed questions about her evolving appearance on social media. “Six years since I was on the show, brow lift, brow microblading, got my teeth bonded, some filler in my lips, aging, darker hair, and I finally learned how to contour,” she shared via X at the time. “Oh, and I put on some weight.”
Bristowe has been open about her cosmetic journey, offering followers candid insights and advice. A year ago, she shared details about Botox, including a lip flip procedure. She explained that this injectable treatment relaxes the muscles around the upper lip, causing it to curl outward and appear fuller.
However, Bristowe also cautioned her fans. In a December 2023 Instagram Story, she revealed that overdone Botox can lead to droopy eyelids. “The only reason you’d get droopy eyelids is if they overtreat and do too much Botox,” she explained. “Go to someone experienced who can take a conservative approach.”
This year, Bristowe underwent an upper blepharoplasty, a procedure to remove excess skin around her eyes. Sharing the news on social media, she remarked, “A lot going on at the Bristowe residence. All 3 of us have stitches,” referring to herself and her dogs Pinot and Ramen. “I got an upper bleph (take it to your group chat if you wanna be negative).”
Bristowe continues to use her platform to promote self-love, encouraging followers to focus on internal growth while being unapologetically herself.
