Now that Twitter has a new owner, several users have decided to abandon their accounts. Recently, popular actress Jameela Jamil voiced a similar concern about how the platform might change under its owner Elon Musk’s leadership. The Good Place star has further announced that she will be leaving Twitter soon.
Her final message came in the form of a short note along with four adorable pictures of Jameela with her furry companion. She has further shared her fears that Twitter is about to become The Purge and some sort of crypto bro fever dream, as explained by Jamil. The actress finally announced that she would rather protect her sanity and spend time with her dog, Barold. Her departure was, however, met with some unpleasant responses.

However, Jameela Jamil’s departure was met with some severe backlash as she addressed that via her Instagram account. The Good Place actress claimed to have been receiving threatening direct messages from people who were criticizing her choice. As she shared the screenshot of her final tweet, she revealed how many people messaged her while calling her names, and some even threatened to cause serious harm.
Jameela Jamil is not the only celeb who has voiced her concern as earlier Marvel star Simu Liu, who has worked in Kim’s Convenience and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, also asked whether there was nothing better to do with 44 billion dollars! Even musician Kevin Jonas voiced her curiosity about whether Twitter will finally have an edit button.
