Do you watch the popular television show Grantchester? If not, we are all here to let you know all the information and whether or not we plan to depart Grantchester. In the same-named Cambridgeshire village in the 1950s, Grantchester, a British ITV investigative drama, takes place. The initial guests on the program were a vicar and an Anglican priest named Sidney Chambers. They both started a detective agency as a side venture with Detective Inspector Geordie Keating’s assistance.
The television show was based on James Runcie’s short story collection called The Grantchester Mysteries. In the fourth season of the series, it was made clear that James Norton would no longer play the primary role in this series. And instead, someone else stepped in to replace Norton as the Reverend Will Davenport in series 4. With James Norton and Robson Green as its central characters, Grantchester is a mellow detective show that is both fulfilling and gentle.
The story revolves around the little town of Grantchester, where a clergyman from Cambridgeshire finds himself investigating a number of mysterious crimes. Sidney Chambers was the rector of Grantchester, a village close to Cambridge, in 1953. Sidney lives a peaceful life until he is confronted with a murder.
Who Is Will Davenport, And What Is his role?
Will Davenport, the vicar of Grantchester, is portrayed by Tom Brittney in Grantchester Seasons 4 and 5 on MASTERPIECE on PBS. After Sidney Chambers left, Will was appointed as the village’s vicar outside of Cambridge (James Norton). Will is a friendly, lively man in his late 20s who likes rock ‘n’ roll who entered Granchester on a motorcycle while dressed in leather. Many people were shocked and disappointed to learn that he chose to live a celibate lifestyle until getting married. His sense of right and wrong is quite strong.
When it comes to Tom Brittney personally, he is an English actor best known for his role as the Reverend Will Davenport in Grantchester. On October 26, 1990, in Gravesend, Kent, Brittney was born. When he was twelve, he moved to Devon, where his mother taught acting. Brittney received her education at the London-based Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Lynn Brittney, a writer, is his mother. Rose, his younger sister, has received dance training.
What Occurred In Grantchester’s Most Recent Season?
By the end of the season, DI Geordie Keating and Reverend Will Davenport had both been able to patch things up with the people they care about; Geordie did this by reconciling with his estranged wife Cathy, and Will appears to have done this by hurriedly, heading to the railway station to meet Bonnie before he and her son boarded a train home. Before the show quickly moved on to their wedding, with Geordie serving as the Best Man, Will begged Bonnie to remain in Grantchester (of course). Bonnie gave him a kiss in return. “Outside is a car.” “The engine is still operating,” he told Will, who said that he wouldn’t be leaving. “I didn’t think so,” Geordie said with a smile. Will and Geordie found themselves just on the green with Grantchester’s church in view after the wedding reception. Geordie made a joke about “kids next” before the two embraced one another.

Is Will Leaving Grantchester?
With several plot lines closed and both members of the show’s main bromance, Will and Geordie paired off, Grantchester season 7 appeared to come to a satisfying conclusion. Robson Green, though, has disclosed that discussions about season 8 are taking place. Will leaving Grantchester is still a mystery, but there has been no formal announcement as of yet, and many anticipate seeing him again in the upcoming season.
Although, according to some sources, the majority of the Grantchester actors, including Tom Brittney and Robson Green, who plays the show’s principal detective pair, are likely to return in their roles. Additionally, we would want to see Ghosts actress Charlotte Ritchie, who joined the group as a rookie last season, return to her previous role as Bonnie Davenport, Will’s new wife. Therefore, this was all we could offer while keeping this page updated with fresh Grantchester facts.
