Boruto anime’s latest episode was 293, in which fans saw a lot of events taking place in a single episode. The episode was released on Sunday, March 19th, earlier this year, with the episode seeming to be concluding a tale or an arc.
Many fans expressed their anxiety about the status of the anime. Considering how the studio has been criticized for the animation quality for a while and how the anime has been covering anime original stories that are unrelated to the main narrative from the Boruto manga, the anime wasn’t doing well.
The latest few episodes of the series cover a Code arc from the manga that saw many different developments occur, from Eida’s arrival to the Konoha village to Boruto being targetted as a villain swapping places with Kawaki and being titled as the “Killer of Naruto Uzumaki,” Boruto is now at the worst state of his life.
Nevertheless, the young Shinobi hasn’t lost his will and is away from the village, preparing and becoming the best version of himself. But the anime fans are still worried about Boruto’s anime status and wonder what is next for this installment.
With the latest episode released back in March, fans are worried about the status of the anime, leading them to wonder if Boruto anime has already come to an end or is canceled. Well, we have details regarding what is next for the Boruto anime, but it certainly isn’t the end.
Is The Boruto Anime Finished?
The anime adaptation of Boruto anime is still far from over, and the anime will be returning soon to display the anticipated time skip and anime the tease that hyped the Naruto fans to see the Boruto, which was the fight between Boruto and Kawaki atop a destroyed Konoha.
The studio in charge of the anime is going to take its time to develop the new arc from the series and has decided to halt the anime’s original episodes for now. The anime’s original episode helped the manga to take the lead on the story, as it is vital that the manga remains ahead of the series.
Considering the manga is a monthly release of chapters, the progression in the story is no doubt quite slow. The anime has had a lot of opportunities to catch up to the source material and even go ahead if the creators allowed, but it is not the case, and instead of still showcasing the anime’s original episodes, the studio has stopped and is developing the new arc with all the energy.
Boruto will return stronger than ever
The new Boruto anime will be adapting the remaining chapters from part 1 of the Boruto manga that will see the end of the pre-time skip arc. The story from the manga will see Kawaki taking measures to protect Naruto by sealing him in a different dimension that also stops time.
While this would have made Kawaki into Konoha’s worst enemy by taking out its Hokage, the narrative is quite taken a rather different development that no one could have predicted with Eida arriving at Konoha and her fondness and love for Kawaki, the latter switching places with the Hokage’s son Boruto.

Having switched places, the Kawaki is now the famous son of Naruto and Hinata, while Boruto has become the infamous killer of the Seventh Hokage. With this plot have been laid down, the story is now more twisted than ever.
When the anime came to an end back in March this year, the manga had also taken a hiatus of three months or so after this settlement. Boruto manga came back earlier this year as well, and new chapters see the time skip and a new narrative taking place with Code and Boruto being the most wanted men in the Konoha’s arc.
The manga series is back with its monthly release, but the anime’s whereabouts are still not determined. Nevertheless, it is reported that the anime is in production. We are assuming that the anime will still be taking its return to the air as it is the time for the manga to get a head start. The new Boruto anime is expected to take at least a year before it is on the air again.
