MasterChef India is one of the most entertaining and loved shows in the reality TV genre. The show recently aired its seventh season and is doing everything to have a successful run.
The show has worldwide versions from Australia, UK, and even Asia. We saw Ranveer Brar, Vikas Khanna, and Ranveer Brar as the judges in the latest season 7.
The show has had a good legacy of giving entertaining cools and is a loved show, but this time, it has been getting a lot of hate and backlash. For some fans, it has been the worst season, and there has been a lot of debate about the show’s authenticity.
Is MasterChef India Scripted?
Most of reality shows are scripted in such a manner that they do not look scripted. The showrunners and producers play a heavy role in editing and deciding what to release on TV.
Most of the time, the contestants with a sob story are the ones who progress in these shows. If you search for the evidence, you can find some users claiming that those contestants who have a sad background story move ahead in these shows.
The latest season faced backlash
Alleged Biasness
The judges have been pointed out for being favorable to some contestants even after seeing normal dishes.
Products placement everywhere
The fans of the show claimed that there were too many product placements, some of them forced, which the audience did not like.
Dull Tasks
The show was anticipated to bring new things with excitement, but the tasks were boring with no excitement.
Bickering among the contestants
The show has always been known for mutual respect between the contestants, but this season, it looked like contestants were bickering about other contestants.
Lack of chemistry between the judges
The previous seasons looked more refined, especially the communication happening between the judges. They had some sort of chemistry and equation, but this season did not reflect the same, and it looked like all of it was scripted.
Trolling of Judges and MasterChef
The show was trolled for eliminating Priyanka
In the black apron task, Priyanka was eliminated because her dish was dull and had no innovative touch, despite giving her a challenging task.
On the other hand, Suvarna and Aruna were given easier tasks that helped them prepare dishes quickly. Fans were upset, one of them posted that the show has more politics and less cooking, and it is all biased.
Judges received backlash for appreciating Aruna’s home cook dish
For the family special episode, Aruna made an appam stew. It was served with stew foam, chammanthi thoran, small appams, and baked vegetables.
The judges have her good comments, despite the fact her prepared appam was small. Judges applauded her for making small appams.
But netizens did not like those compliments; they said that those appams looked basic if they compared the dishes to each other.
Pretending to taste the dish
In the black apron challenge, viewers watched Chef Garmia pretending to taste Priyanka’s dish.
A Twitter user wrote that if you’re pretending something, pretend well at least. Having no food on the fork doesn’t help much.
Judges received backlash for Biasness
The judges have often been called out for being biased by the netizens. They discussed Aruna and Priya’s elimination. One fan said that in past seasons, the show has never been partial.
Netizens were not happy with the judges
Again, Aruna was allowed to work with paneer instead of fish (she’s a vegan), and she was uncomfortable cooking a non-veg dish. This created a commotion among the fans of the show.
One Twitter user said that it is MasterChef India. Fish, meat, and eggs are consumed by more than 70% of India’s population. Why is she even on the show if she doesn’t want to work with culinary dishes? She should start a Jain kitchen. Why even take a spot for someone else?
