Is James Bond really dead?
While it is not confirmed whether James Bond is dead or not, Director Cary Joji Fukunaga has confirmed in an early interview that the ending of No Time To Die was made to be as definite and conclusive as possible on that score. The director further explained that during his first meeting with Daniel Craig and the producers, they said that is how they wanted the story.
Joji added that it felt that it was an ending, and Joji felt like it was the result of an ending. The No Time To Die director added that the storyline and crescendo that eventually led to Bond’s death was a time-consuming thing, but when the scene was finally confirmed, the makers deliberately left the circumstances of his death a bit loose. The director also admitted that he was struggling as it could not have been conventional action and needed to be tied into the central theme of the story.

What happened to James Bond?
No Time To Die pens down James Bond’s tragic death at the end. As Bond gets into a heated fight with Rami Malek’s Safin, with Safin smashing a vial of nanobots on Bond’s head. Bond soon responded and snapped Safin’s arm in half with his bare hands.
However, James Bond was soon left with the horrifying realization that he was trapped and won’t be able to leave Safin’s island. Not only that, but it was soon revealed that the nanobots were designed to kill Madeleine and his daughter Mathilde and if they touched them, they would die.

With the realization that he has limited time, Bond bids his final farewell to Madeleine while saying that she has all the time in the world, and she tells Bond that Mathilde has his eyes. As it all comes to a poignant end, Bond gets atomized by HMS Dragon’s rockets while bidding farewell to the character.
Daniel Craig Says Whether Bond is Dead or Not!
Lead star Daniel Craig might have some insight into it. The actor stated that while he is gone, Bond will return and must return at some point. Craig further added that he had wanted to kill off Bond from the very beginning of his 15-year tenure as the character, and this started off when the actor was making Casino Royale in 2006.
Daniel Craig explained that he was thinking of killing off the character as he was more focused on himself and his postponed career and was trying to think of how that would work and but the actor also thought what they did with Casino Royale as the makers had the chance to reset with that because they went back to the beginning and that is when Craig thought he would have a chance to reset again.
