If you watch this show and haven’t finished the final episodes, then feel free to skip it because there are huge spoilers in this article. Now, without wasting another second, let’s dive deep into what’s actually happening in this sci-fi drama and where it’s headed.
Invasion Plot
Invasion Season 1 began with some inexplicable events that worried people across the globe. A small-town sheriff notices these events and believes that something bigger is at play. As the people unite to fight against this supposed alien invasion, they must risk their lives to save their loved ones. After their joint initiative, while the world is still struggling with global destruction, a new problem arises before them.
Invasion season 2 picked up with Mitsuki, who was taken to an alien ship while a group called The Movement rose quickly. Although some of the people who seek refuge join the group, others find it hard to trust The Movement. As the show progresses, there are a lot of risks and challenges that these characters face. But will they succeed at saving their planet, that can’t be predicted yet.
Invasion Season 2 Ending Explained
The show Invasion finally aired its last episode on 25th October 2023, Wednesday and what a twist that ending was! If you’ve been keeping up with this show and the ending boggled your mind, then here’s a quick recap of what happened.
The four main characters finally get a chance to meet each other after operating alone the whole time, except Trevante and Caspar, who saw each other in the first season. Now, it was revealed earlier in the second season that Caspar is in fact, very much alive and ready to resume his work.
While Caspar found an ally in Mitsuki, Trevante tried to talk his way into taking the alien forces but was denied permission. As the episode moves on, throwing one twist after another, a lot of things happen. Aneesha tries to explain the importance of the alien shard and hopes to get Sarah back, which she does successfully.
Her son, Luke, who has a telepathic ability to neutralize the attacking alien, plays a huge role since he’s the one keeping them at bay using his powers. He can see exactly what the hivemind sees, which helps humans protect everyone.
Invasion Season 2 Ending Sets Up The Story For A Brand New Season
Mitsuki is ordered to go through the portal to attack the hivemind from within. However, soon, it becomes apparent that the only way they can defeat their enemies is from the inside out, which might be risky for all the parties involved. Yet Mitsuki is ready to sacrifice herself if the need arises.
Later, a portal door appears, which won’t let anyone in except Trevante, so he says his farewell and makes his way to that portal. In one of the scenes, Mitsuki lies unconscious on the floor, but no one knows whether she’s dead or alive.
The big twist comes when Caspar meets Trevante inside the alien hivemind, and his eyes turn completely strange, making a weird, alien squishing sound. Is Caspar really working with the humans or against them? But if he is with humans, then is someone else controlling him, guiding Trevante into a possible trap?
The finale didn’t solve any puzzle, but it only complicated the story. However, it’s certain that bigger revelations will be made during the third season. The cliffhanger only sets up the story for a bigger play in the new season that will focus on what lies on the other side of the portal and whose side Caspar is actually on.
