Inde Navarrette has recently become one of Hollywood’s most talked-about rising stars after her breakout performance in Obsession. Her next major project is Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot, where she will play Rogue. However, a recent rumor claimed that Navarrette had rejected a role in Michael Mann’s highly anticipated Heat 2 to commit to Marvel.

That story is now being disputed. According to TheWrap, Navarrette was never actually offered a role in Heat 2. She reportedly had one meeting with director Michael Mann, but the discussions did not progress to an official offer.

The Heat 2 Casting Rumor Was Not Accurate

The original reports suggested that Navarrette was being considered for a major role in Heat 2 and ultimately turned it down because of her commitment to Marvel’s X-Men. The story quickly gained attention because the sequel is expected to feature major stars including Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale.

Heat 2 executive producer Shane Salerno directly rejected the claim.

The clarification changes the story considerably. Navarrette did meet Mann, but there is no evidence that she had a confirmed Heat 2 role that she later rejected for Marvel.

Inde Navarrette Is Officially Playing Rogue

While her Heat 2 involvement remains only a rumor, Navarrette’s Marvel role is confirmed. Marvel Studios revealed its new X-Men cast during Disney’s 2026 D23 event, officially announcing Navarrette as Rogue.

She will appear alongside Kit Connor as Cyclops, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Maya Boyd as Storm, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost and Adam Driver as Mister Sinister.

Directed by Jake Schreier, the new X-Men movie is scheduled for release on May 5, 2028. The casting represents an important step for Marvel as the X-Men officially become part of the main MCU continuity
