Former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman (Adam Scherr) has ignited speculation that he could be involved in Amazon’s live-action God of War series after sharing a series of cryptic social media posts.
The rumors surfaced shortly after reports claimed actor Ryan Hurst would no longer portray Kratos following a torn biceps injury, prompting Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios to pause production until October 2026, reportedly.
Scherr posted images of himself dressed as Kratos alongside the caption,
“I am him.”

Hours later, he shared a photo of an Amazon Studios guest pass dated July 15, just one day before reports emerged that a replacement for Hurst was being sought. The timing quickly fueled speculation that the wrestler may have auditioned for the iconic role.
Despite the online buzz, there has been no official confirmation from Amazon MGM Studios or Sony Pictures Television that Scherr has been cast. He could simply be one of several actors being considered as production prepares to resume later this year.
Unlike Hurst, who is known for performances in Sons of Anarchy and Vikings, Scherr has limited acting experience, making his potential casting a surprising choice if confirmed.
