If You Get Caught, You’ll Die! is the fantasy manhwa in the Enemies to Lovers trope. The story takes place in a world that is split in three and is ruled by 3 Different entities. There is heaven, ruled by divine beings. There is the underworld, ruled by demons. And then there is Middle Earth, ruled by Dragons. This story takes place in Middle Earth, and it involves an Emperor of Middle Earth, Gold Dragon Karlyx, and the girl who stole a part of his core, Celia.
Celia was just a little girl when she met Karlyx. She was a native of the Northern Regions and an orphan. While traveling, one day, she came across a mysterious fruit. After taking a bite, she realized it tasted awful. However, she did not spit it out cause she was taught never to waste food. Little did she know, the thing she just took a bite out of was the core of a Dragon.
Seeing his half-eaten core Karlyx was outraged, but there was nothing he could do. He said he would come for her in 10 years, as it takes at least ten years for a human to absorb a Dragon’s core. However, before he could say anything more, Karlyx started to awaken, leaving him unable to move and giving him time for Celia to escape with her life. After almost a decade, they meet again.
Celia is a grown woman this time, but Karlyx doesn’t seem to have aged a day. Furthermore, it doesn’t seem like he recognizes her. Celia tried her best to stay away but became his masseuse. A nasty side effect of having an incomplete core is insomnia, and for some reason, Celia’s massages put him to sleep right away.
At this point in the story, Karlyx and Celia have started to develop feelings for each other. Karlyx is sure that the person who stole his core is not Celia. And Celia does not dare reveal her status as it might mean instant death. But now Karlyx is in heat and is very uncomfortable. The only way to get better is to retrieve his cire from the person he shared it with.

After seeing Karlyx in this deplorable situation, Roman sends for Celia, believing she can massage him. Celia assumed dragons could not get sick; however, after seeing his condition, she was afraid. She tried to massage him, but Karlyx had other plans. The cores might have reacted with each other. Katlyx pulls her into the bed, and they end up sleeping together.
Roman enters the room and sees that Karlyx is fine now. Meaning Celia was the one whom they had been looking for all this time. He tells Karlyx his observation, and it appears that Karlyx came to that conclusion, also. Karlyx does not know what to think. Celia has been lying to him from day one. His feelings towards Celia are conflicted, to say the least.
For the next week, there was no contact between them. Celia is on cloud 9, thinking everything is good. She is finally summed to Karlyx’s room. She starts apologizing right away and starts stroking his ego. However, this time none of it works. Karlyx is not even looking at her. Finally, he asks her if she has anything else to apologize for. Celia is dumbfounded.
