Yoshifumi Tozuka’s most intriguing manga series, Undead Unluck, has finally gotten its anime adaptation. Filled with humor and well-choreographed action scenes, this is the perfect anime for any Shonen lover.
When Undead Unluck’s manga was first released in January 2020, it started gaining readers at a slow but steady pace. While it may look like any other normal Shonen at first, this story by Yoshifumi takes us through an exciting adventure that gets better as we progress further into the story.
The plot of Undead Unluck centers on beings called “Negators” who can bend the rules of the world to their liking. Our protagonist, Fuuko Izumo, is busy finding a way to end her life after her favorite manga series has ended. The truth is that Fuuko is a negator whose negator ability is unluck.
Whenever someone comes in contact with Izumo, the person attracts devastating bad luck. This ability has caused Fuuko nothing but pain, making her the reason behind her parents’ deaths. However, before she can jump off, a strange man (whom Fuuko later calls Andy) shows up and stops her.
Andy has a negator ability called Undead, meaning he would never die no matter how brutal his last death may have been. With Fuuko’s unluck, Andy hopes to attract enough bad luck that he’ll eventually receive the much-awaited death he’s been after.
There’s much more to Undead Unluck than this, and the story gets more complex and entertaining as new characters with their negator abilities are introduced.

With Yuki Yase of Fire Force and Durarara!! as its director, Undead Unluck has been produced by David Production and TMS Entertainment.
The adventure, comedy, and supernatural anime will likely follow the manga completely. When Fuuko Izumo tries to end her life after being in seclusion for ten years, Andy shows up just in time to stop her and take her with him. Andy believed that Fuuko’s ability would be able to kill him once and for all.
However, the duo is contacted by a group called Union. An assassin of the Union named Shen informs Fuuko and Andy that they must join the group if they no longer wish to be hunted for their powers. Fuuko and Andy join the Union and discover a world filled with all kinds of enemies and mysteries.
This is where Undead Unluck’s actual story begins, as members of the Union will have to perform quests given to them by a supernatural book called Apocalypse. The only aim of Negators in the Union is to bring down God, the ultimate being that bestowed these negator abilities on the world in the first place.
Besides this, they have to fight creatures called UMA (Unidentified mysterious animals), which are usually the embodiment of things like decay, thirst, and such. God has their own groups called Regulators and Under, which are enemies of those belonging to the Union.

Rest assured, knowing that Undead Unluck won’t be ending as most anime usually do. An interesting story deserves plenty of episodes, and Undead Unluck will have around 24 episodes for its first season. Fresh, exciting episodes of this Yuki Yase anime will be released on Saturdays, with each episode lasting for a total of 24 minutes.
