Fan Xian, born with memories from the 21st century but living in ancient Southern Qing, grows up in a rural town as the illegitimate son of a high-ranking official. Under the care of his grandmother and the protection of Wu Zhu, his mother’s loyal bodyguard, Fan Xian learns martial arts and poison techniques from a young age, blending his modern knowledge with ancient traditions.
Surviving an attempt on his life, Fan Xian sets out to the capital to find out the mysteries surrounding his mother’s death and the origins of his unusual memories. Along the way, he encounters Lin Wan Er, the illegitimate daughter of a princess, and falls for her, unaware of her arranged marriage to the emperor.
In the capital, Fan Xian becomes ensnared in the intricate political web of the royal court and the Overwatch Department, leading him to question his own identity and aspirations.
As the second season of Joy of Life begins soon, it will be going deeper into Fan Xian’s journey as he faces the dangerous waters of court politics, seeking to establish his place while confronting his past and redefining his future.
