In Another World With My Smartphone, an anime adaptation of Patora Fuyuhara’s ongoing light novel series, premiered in July 2017 with 12 episodes available for streaming on Crunchyroll. Despite hints of continuing the story, no official announcement for a second season was made until last year. The upcoming season is set to premiere on April 3, 2023, and the trailer shows new scenes while introducing the theme song.
It features the same characters and themes as the first season, with Touya and his female companions being prominently featured, including a new evolution of his magical gun. However, the trailer hints at a more serious turn with the introduction of an antagonist and shots of death and destruction, indicating real consequences for Touya’s adventure.
Fans can expect the new season to bring some changes in production. As J.C. Staff will be taking over the animation responsibilities from the Production Reed, with Yoshiaki Iwasaki directing the series in place of the first season’s director, Takeyuki Yanase. It is still to be known how the changes and the more pressing plot components will be impacting the show. In spite of everything, viewers wouldn’t have to wait much to find out what’s in the box for them.
The protagonist of “In Another World With My Smartphone,” 15-year-old Touya, will remain the central character. He is joined by a group of girls, some of whom become his wives in the story. The group includes:
Yumina Urnea Belfast, who is the first to join Touya’s wife group, Linze Silhoueska, Touya’s wife group’s second member. Her younger twin sister Elze Silhoueska. Yae Kokonoe is the fourth girl to join Touya’s wife group Leen is also part of Touya’s future wives.
Additionally, Kohaku, Sushie Ernea Ortlinde (Yumina’s cousin and another future wife of Touya), Lucia Rea Regulus (a princess and future bride of Touya), Hildegard Minas Lestia (another princess and future bride of Touya), and Sakura (also a princess and future bride of Touya) are part of the story.
About In Another World With My Smartphone
After being struck by a stray bolt of lightning and killed, Touya Mochizuki is offered an apology from God in the form of a wish and a chance to live in a magical fantasy world. Touya accepts the offer and wishes to keep his smartphone with him.
He discovers that the new world is filled with magic, which he has an affinity for, and attractive girls who vie for his attention, including Linze and Elze Silhoueska, Yumina Urnea Belfast, Leen, and Yae Kokonoe. While these girls cause romantic frustrations for Touya, they also provide him with companionship as he learns about the secrets of this new world.
At the end of Season 1 of “In Another World With My Smartphone,” a significant revelation is made about Touya’s new world. The revelation is that nine humanoid robots of women were built roughly five thousand years ago by a professor named Regina Babylon.
These robots were created in the Babylon Empire, which was split into nine pieces, and they were placed for Touya to discover in the future. Regina, who had abilities that could glimpse into the future, foresaw that Touya might come one day and have nine spouses. Touya must pass a test to prove his compatibility with each of the robots to gain full authority over the Empire of Babylon
