Gremlins: Secrets Of The Mogwai is, in fact, a prequel to the Gremlins movie, which was released in the year 1984, and also its sequel, which was released back in 1990. What happened in the sequels of Gremlins: Secrets Of The Mogwai
The 1984 movie Gremlins is a dark comedy movie, following the story of a young boy Billy. While in China, Billy’s father decides to look for a perfect and unique Christmas gift for his son, and a small adorable creature called Gizmo catches his eye. The Shopkeeper refuses to sell Gizmo to Billy’s father; however, at the constant request, he sells Gizmo and asks him to take care of three things, not to feed Gizmo at midnight, to not spill water on him, and not to keep him in bright lights.
Accepting all three rules, Billy takes Gizmo home and keenly takes care of him. One day, one of Billy’s friend, Pete, accidentally get Gizmo wet, which causes the multiplication of the Gizmo-like creatures called Mogwai, which is more arrogant. Soon, the mogwais eat after midnight because of Billy’s ignorance, and that is why the Gremlins (Evil creatures) magically start to emerge and plan to destroy the town where Billy lives.
The whole movie then encircles Billy, Gizmo, and Billy’s girlfriend Kate fighting the evil Gremlins, which can be killed in sunlight. Ultimately, after the victory of Billy’s team, Gizmo returns to the shopkeeper who sold Gizmo to Billy, which hints that even the sequel of Gremlins will release soon, with new and exciting adventures. Subsequently, in the year 1990, Gremlin’s sequel, Gremlins 2: The Next Batch, made an enticing entry into the world of American thriller-fantasy films.
In the second part of Gremlins, Gizmo is back again to live with Billy and Kate after so many years of the events of Gremlins. Both Billy and Kate work in the same company where they also bring Gizmo. One day Gizmo accidentally gets wet, causing the multiplication of Mogwais. Just like the first part, even in the second part, Mogwais outsmart Billy, eats after midnight, and welcomes Gremlins to destroy Billy’s workplace.
As Gremlins are so smart, they use the technologies available in Billy’s workplace to mutate into different types of creatures, and during the havoc, scientist Dr. Catheter joins hands with Billy to fight the Gremlins. In the end, Billy manages to kill all the creatures but Gizmo, who was loved by Billy unconditionally, despite his nature to get multiplied in evil creatures. Billy understands that Gizmo is not safe and adaptable to his world, and that is why both Gizmo and Billy say each other goodbye and part ways.
