Gen Z Plot
An orphan in her twenties, Sun Tou Tou, gets helped by Ren Xin Zheng when she struggles to fight against injustice. Accordingly, she joins Professor Ren’s TCM course to begin a new phase of life. It is how she inherits his family’s TCM practice. Do not worry because the story is not only about a teacher and a student. The love story is yet to begin.
Sun Tou Tou has an irritating classmate named Tian Zhen, Professor Ren’s son. He creates difficulties for her in the beginning. However, as time passes, they start empathizing with each other. Luckily, issues related to the generation gap do not arise here. Still, Sun Tou Tou faces challenges while getting educated.
The rating graph goes steadily up for this series. Till the thirty-sixth episode, four episodes got the lowest rating of 9.4, and three got a rating of 10. Most episodes got a rating of 9.5 which is still lower.
Zao Lusi’s acting is great. People looking for a different kind of drama can go for this one. However, the series has many negative reviews saying that many actors did not perform well. The screenwriter did not introduce enough remedies related to Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Some viewers did not find Luo Yi Zhou compatible with Zhao Lusi. According to the director, people consider the series serious and intense. They also think that the course is made only for veteran medical practitioners. However, it also contains many young students just like me and you who are new to the field.
The series shows that acceptance is more important than inheritance. Instead, acceptance is important in the inheriting and understanding of Chinese medicine. The leading characters in Gen Z accept the traditional Chinese medicinal culture with modern thinking. The young people are full of tension, while traditional Chinese medicine consists of calmness and stability.
The actors studied traditional Chinese medicine for some time before the beginning of the series. It is how they cleared their misconceptions related to the concept.
