Boy Love, known as BL, is a popular TV genre in several Asian nations, particularly Thailand. These shows focus on love relationships between guys who appear to exist in a world devoid of the hurdles that many LGBTQ+ people face.
They have also given rise to a large number of online fan groups in which viewers claim they feel safe to be themselves. BL programs are some of the most popular on TV in several Asian nations. It portrays their difficulties and how they reach where they desire to go. The drama aims to show viewers what it’s like to be an aspiring artist and to work in the entertainment industry in general. With its unusual narrative and Thai cultural setting, “Boyband” is guaranteed to fascinate viewers and provide them with an experience of a lifetime.
By including a homosexual male lead character and highlighting the issues that people in same-sex relationships experience in the entertainment industry, the series promotes inclusion and acceptance.

Boyband: Cast
Zubom Phiphat Wichasu portrays Top. Zubom is a World Star Network signed actor. He was once a part of the Lao cover dance group X-Boy (together with X-Junior) and, later, the Thai cover dancers exxBoys. Theerachet Yanwantana, also known as “Jaymin,” is a Thai actor as well as a dancer.
Jaymin Theerachet Yanwantana portrays Juju. He previously taught dance and studied media and communication at Ramkhamhaeng University. Metinee Kingpayome is a Thai actress, model, and television personality. Metinee was born in Maryland (near Washington, D.C.) to Thai immigrants and raised in New York City.
She moved to Thailand as an adult and achieved the Miss Thailand World 1992 title. She went on to represent Thailand in the Miss World pageant in 1992, where she was named Continental Queen of Asia and Oceania. Lukkade Metinee Kingpayome portrays Serena in the series.
Nino Maethanee Buranasiri portrays the character Phanu. Anon Saisangcharn, called Pu, is a Thai singer, songwriter, musician, producer, and actor. He was a part of the Uranium Blue Planet band before becoming the lead singer of Blackhead.
Pu Anon Saisangcharn portrays Madame Pauly. Intouch Kooramasuwan portrays Ken. Intouch Kooramasuwan is a singer and actor. He attended Khonkaen University’s Fine and Applied Arts.

Boyband: Streaming Guide
- The fans from Thailand can stream the Boyband series every Thursday at 23:00 (CST) on GMM25.
- Japan started streaming the series on February 27 on their video streaming platform, SPOOX.
- Worldstar YouTube channel featured the debut episode on YouTube and episode 2 onwards. The complete episodes of the series are not available on YouTube. But don’t be disappointed, the glimpse and trailers of all the episodes are available.
- The series will also be broadcasted on its Instagram handle @boybandtheseries later for its international fans around the world.
International fans had to wait weeks for translations of the Thai series that premiered last year. It’s rather prevalent in Thai series. Sometimes it’s a case of not anticipating much profit from international distribution, or you may have to wait since, among other things, it was launched as a paid series for Thai audiences initially but now it is free to fans based in Thailand.
It was essentially, a premiere on YouTube for the international audience to announce indirectly that the series would no longer be streamed on YouTube. It appears to me that the production firm for this series did not anticipate attracting such a large number of foreign viewers. Hence they did not have a platform set up for a worldwide broadcast. Only English subtitles are available on YouTube as of now.
