“Holiday Road,” directed by Martin Wood, is based on a true story about nine other passengers whose trip to Denver is delayed by inclement weather. Travel writer Dana (Serah Canning) has a brilliant idea: they could rent a van and drive to Denver together. Now, fellow travelers, her fellow passengers concur.
A mother and her anxious son, a social media personality, a tech entrepreneur, a couple, and an elderly man with a gruff demeanor are among the varied personalities they feature. Soon after the joyous group departs, they come into uncharted territory and must overcome several challenges that both strengthen their bond and alter some of their lives.
You might question whether the filming happened on the Portland to Denver route after seeing their exciting voyage and the places they stopped at. Nine total strangers are followed throughout the film as they take a Christmas road trip to Denver, Colorado, during the festival season.
As you might expect, the male and female leads in the Hallmark film fall in love as they tour Denver together. But what about the other seven characters? What are they going to receive?
You must see the film to understand the plot. The US debut of Holiday Road is scheduled for November 24 at 8/7c exclusively on Hallmark Channel.
The majority of “Holiday Road” was shot in and around Vancouver City, in the British Columbia province, which is located on the Great White North’s western coast. Early September of 2023 saw the completion of filming for the Hallmark film. Let’s examine the particular sites that serve as the production’s backdrops.
Vancouver, British Columbia
For “Holiday Road,” Vancouver, a thriving port city, has taken on the roles of Portland, Denver, and all points in between. The city is a Hallmark favorite for movie locations since it has first-rate filming studios and varied scenery.
A sound stage in one of these studios was employed to replicate the road excursion that our travel party took. Several past Hallmark films, including “Christmas in Canaan,” “Royal New Year’s Eve,” “The Christmas Secret,” “Write Before Christmas,” “The Christmas House,” and “Five Star Christmas,” have also been filmed in the city.
With a few mislabeled signs, Vancouver International Airport was shown as the Portland airport at the movie’s start. Situated on Richmond’s Sea Island, the airport has been used as a backdrop for movies including “Supernatural,” “Final Destination,” “Good Luck Chuck,” “Passengers,” and “Firewall.”
Numerous actors shared their positive experiences on social media, suggesting that they had a great time filming “Holiday Road.” The actress who plays Tricia, Enid-Raye Adams, talks about how the performers have a lot of material to work with and can laugh even when they are not on camera.
The actress who plays Lei Ling, Sharon Crandall, posted on Instagram about the amazing experience, writing, “What a time we had together for three weeks this summer.” We laughed, we sobbed, we sweated, and we almost puked. We perspired profusely. There is no way I would have it otherwise.
Cast Of The Movie
The main actress in Holiday Road is Sara Canning. She portrays Dana as a single mother who is having financial difficulties. She drives to Denver with a bunch of strangers after becoming stuck at an airport over the holidays. Clay, a businessman who is also stuck at the airport, is portrayed by Warren Christie.
Though he is hesitant at first, he eventually becomes receptive to the notion and develops a bond with Dana. In the movie Holiday Road, Kiefer O’Reilly portrays Ben, a young guy attempting to leave his past behind. He is reserved and bashful at first, but he gradually warms up to the other group members.
Princess Davis portrays Maya as a vibrant young lady. She’s the one who advises that they drive to Denver as a group, and based on the trailer, we may infer that she plays a vlogger in the movie. As Tricia, Enid-Raye captures the essence of a lady yearning for some joyous moments that will elevate her life.
Lei, a young lady who is having identity issues, is portrayed by Sharon Crandall. She’s reserved and quiet at first, but she comes into her own later. Dusty, an elderly guy attempting to make amends with her family, is portrayed by Trevor Lerner. He keeps the group focused and serves as their voice of reason.
