This new season of Gordon Ramsay’s long-running cooking competition Hell’s Kitchen is all about the American Dream, and it comes with the perks of $250,000, plus becoming the head chef for his restaurant in Ceasar’s Palace.
This season will be all about Americana, so, we can expect a lot of patriotic tropes that celebrate everything that represents the United States. From flags, pop culture references, and the fiercest scoldings coming from Ramsay, as we’re all accustomed to.
Now, after the Season 22 premiere, we have prepared a recap of the debut episode, as well as telling you everything you need to know about this show, where to find it, and more extra details that will become useful for you as you prepare to enjoy this program.
Hell’s Kitchen Season 22 Episode 1 Recap
The show begins with exterior shots of the HK restaurant; the participants are greeted by the Maitre D’, and then they are led into the Hell’s Kitchen dining room, where Gordon Ramsay set up two doors much in the fashion of the last episode of each season in which one of the chefs win.
After that, Chef Christina and Chef Jason welcomed the new cast of participants. Then, a stage pops up with a guitarist playing the Star Spangled Banner, and Boxer Oscar de la Hoya, Martina McBride, Dia Simms, and Gordon Ramsay tell their American Dream story.
Ramsay has De la Hoya, McBride, and Simms tell their stories and what drives them to get that American Dream, and then we see several confessionals from the new cast.
Chef Christina coaches the women, and Chef Jason coaches the men. They put on their aprons and start working in the kitchen for their presentation signature dishes. They have 15 minutes to make it. There’s singing, there’s sass, there’s lots of fun.
When the clock runs out, they have to present their dishes, and Ramsay isn’t impressed. He scolds several undercooked meats, rejects the taste of an overseasoned lobster, and isn’t happy about a dude who says he pays Quidditch professionally. In the end, they are tied. So Chef Ramsay tie breaks by tasting the best dish from the two teams, and the women win.
After that, the women are sent to some chill time for cocktails, and the losing team must clean the kitchen, and do the prep work for the dinner service.
