The fantastical story of a science teacher called Ichabod Crane, who just moved to a new town, is weaved into the new series Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story. Sleepy Hollow is an odd town, as odd as it sounds. There are surprises in each corner of its lanes. From ancient legends to new secrets, the town has hidden a million other things that will be unfolded as time passes.
Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story is an adaptation of the short story called “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” written by Washington Irving. This is not the only adaptation the short story has encountered. Another adaptation is the web series from which the show has been inspired.
Due to circumstances, Ichabod Crane had to move from the place he was already staying. While in search of a roommate, he realized that it was going to be The Headless Horseman. With a thousand questions going around in his mind, he decides that he has to know the history behind the horseman. Thus begins Ichabod’s journey for truth.

Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story Episode 5 Recap
In the previous episode, Ichabod was in search of a lawyer. He asked Brom about it and asked him about the lawyer Greta Bradley. During the court case, he wanted lawyer Bradley to represent him. With the help of Brom, he gets a hand on the lawyer’s head and arrives late at court.
Right after The Headless Horseman turns into “Greta Bradley”, he realizes something is wrong. She is, in fact, not an attorney at law. Instead, she is a YouTube prankster Devlyn Versace. She happens to start shooting her prank videos right there, which seems like a mimic of obnoxious pranksters with meaningless sound effects while Ichabod is left alone in his misery.
It is not hard to imagine that Brom did it knowingly. When Brom comes to talk to Matilda, thinking he did a hilarious prank, Matilda calls him out and tells him it’s not funny to bully “the new kid on the block.”
In the courtroom, Ichabod is visibly stressed. To add to that, the prankster accompanies him inside and creates a ruckus. But it was only for comedic purposes, it seems. Though the comedy seemed a bit overbearing at times, there’s more to Ichabod’s story. He has been stressed already even when he has been in the town for less than a week. He has already seen more than the townspeople.
Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story Episode 5 Ending Explained
The episode ended with Matilda, Brom, and Ichabod planning their next destination. With the help of Matilda, Anne Tarry is brought to life. Anne Tarry used to be Baltus’ assistant before Judy. When Matilda confirms this with Tarry, she drops shocking news. Anne Tarry reveals that she was indeed Baltus’ assistant before being killed by him.
With no further discussion about the news, the series ended with suspense. But that ensures an eventful upcoming episode that will possibly shed more light on this accusation. With Kat’s invitation to Ichabod to their dinner, the next episode will also show Ichabod having dinner with Kat and Baltus. After the recent accusations, the dinner will probably reveal some new clues.
