Hataraku Maou-sama!! Season 2 Episode 9 is set to release this week. A second season of The Devil Is a Part-Timer (Hataraku Maou-sama!! ) was announced by Kadokawa in 2021, with the main cast reprising their roles from last season. The Devil Is a Part-Timer will be animated by 3Hz next season under the direction of Daisuke Chikushi and feature characters designed by Ydai Iino and Yoshihiro Takeda as chief animation director. BS11 and Tokyo MX presented the second season of “With” on July 14, 2022. Minami Kuribayashi composed the show’s opening theme, and Marina Horiuch composed the show’s ending theme.
We see in episode 8 that as a result of an incident at her family’s farm, Chiho invites Maou, Alciel, and Urushihara to join them to harvest. They arrive at Sasaki’s family farm in Nagano with Chiho and her mom, where they meet her grandmother, her aunt and uncle, her cousin, her wife, and their child. After working the three for a day, they are taken to a nearby hot spring to clean up when they run into Emi, Suzuno, and Alas Ramus. They are blown away after discovering how much land the family owns, as well as how large their house is.
Hataraku Maou-Sama! Season 2 Episode 8 Review
For just a moment, put yourself in Emi’s shoes. Imagine that your beloved parents turn out to be not your real family and that you’ve been destined for so much more than staying in a tiny farming village your whole life. You regretfully cross that bridge and learn to become the weapon that the Demon King is looking for you. You must exact your revenge on this foul creature without breaching the boundaries of a hero.
He was the one who mercilessly destroyed your village and everything in it. In a twist of fate, you come face-to-face with the Devil himself in his human form. You want to kill him there and then, but he says he’ll return once he finishes flipping burgers. Also, he appears to be the gentlest and most meticulous person I’ve ever seen, content with what he’s got and lacking the ambition to get to where he used to be. Maou transformed into someone who was completely unrecognizable from the Demon as you saw him right in front of your eyes.
Since she has been stagnant in her development for quite some time now, I afford her a lot more leniency than I would other characters. In some ways, she has even reverted to her first-season character traits. There’s a lot she needs to learn before she can accept Maou, but this episode is a solid start. In past seasons, her character had a mature dialogue with Maou in this episode, which was not the case this time. Having finished their last part-time job on the beach, Maou and her friends move out to the countryside for this outing, and the show seems even more like a slice of life than ever before.
The show excels when it demonstrates both sides of the issue and relates them, which it did well in this episode. There is a little repetition in the story each time this occurs, but it isn’t a big deal when a show doesn’t have a lot of plot. This show has a heavy emphasis on character development, which was evident in this episode.
Chiho showed us a different side of herself than we’re used to seeing, and Lucifer’s pain was one of the most moving portions of this episode. The bear subplot is also interesting, and it is an off-kilter thread that may go in several different directions, even though the show didn’t have enough time to characterize each member of Chiho’s family.
