Hashtag is a kpop girl group from the third generation of kpop. They debuted back in 2017 with seven members, two of which have left the group for good. The group is currently under Wannabe Entertainment and LUK Factory.
The girl band currently has two extended plays and four singles under their belt. Their fandom’s name is Happi. Their first and debut EP, The Girl Next Door, has six songs that bring a bright and friendly as well as cute energy as it is a girly concept. The intro track is stacked with harmonies of the girls singing the word Hashtag. Hue, track two on the EP, is a cute song with the members singing a love song.
Track three, Something Like That, proves that Hashtag is a vocally strong group with myriad shades of voices. This sound reminds us of the late 2010s because it was released in 2017. Track Four, Hz is another addition in the cute song section, while track five, When It Rains is piano ballad, and track six is the instrumental for Hue.
Even though Hashtag debuted as seven members, Dajeong and Aeji left the group in early 2023 after being a part of the group for five years.
Members
Hyunji
Kim Hyun Ji, or Hyunji, is the Leader and Sub-Vocalist for the group Hashtag. She was born on June 30, 1992, in Seoul in South Korea. Her Hashtag word is “Sad.”
She acts as well. She has starred web drama Trace of the Hand and a movie, Daddy You, Daughter Me. Aside from that, she can do good impressions of Donald Duck and that of a cat. Hyunji is also the oldest member of Hashtag.
Sua
Yang Su-A or Sua is the Lead Rapper and Sub-Vocalist of Hashtag. She was born on March 24, 1995, in Gwangju, South Korea. Her Hashtag word is “Happy.”
She has also acted in the K-drama, My Love For The Star as a student. She has won an English storytelling contest and is good at impressions like Hyunji. Sua is also the second oldest member of Hashtag after Hyunji.
Seungmin
Lee Seung Min, or Seungmin, is the Main Vocalist in the girl group Hashtag. She was born on February 3, 1996. Her Hashtag word is “Sensitive.” Additionally, she is also a part of Hashtag’s sub-unit, “Purple.”
She has been a dancer for Hi.Ni., and she has really cute dimples. She is also friends with another kpop idol Juen from the group DIA.

Subin
Oh, Su Bin or Subin is the Main Dancer and Lead Vocalist of the group Hashtag. She was born on September 30, 1998, in Ulsan, South Korea. Her Hashtag word is “Loud.” She is also a part of the sub-unit Purple along with Seungmin.
Subin is the fourth oldest member in the group currently. As a student, she took lessons at the music academy. Subin adds to the list of people in the group who can impersonate, and she can impersonate Doraemon. Subin is the one in the group who takes care of the power moves in the dances of the group.
Sojin
Hong So Jin, or Sojin, is the Sub-Rapper, Vocalist, and Maknae (The Youngest Member) of the girl group Hashtag. She was born on September 24, 1999, in Busan, South Korea. Her Hashtag word is “Cranky.” Sojin is the one who is informative about idols and idol groups.
She is the one who enjoys collecting things that are cute, and she is a fan of the group Lovelyz. Amongst all the members of the group, Sojin is the one who has trained for the shortest amount of time and has still made it to the final line-up and finally debuted with the group Hashtag.
Former Members
Dajeong
Kim Dajeong, or Dajeong, was the former Leader, Main Rapper, Main Dancer, Vocalist, and Visual of the group. She was also a part of the sub-unit Purple. She has previously trained under Annyung Music Entertainment and was also a participant in Produce 101.
Dajeong has been BLACKPINK’s back-dancer as well. She has won awards in her modeling career and is confident to do a freestyle for any song, regardless of the genre. She exited the group on March 21 21, 2023.
Aeji
Kwon Ae Ji, or Aeji, was the former Lead Dancer, Vocalist, and Maknae for the group Hashtag. Her Hashtag word was “Love.” She was born on October 25, 1999, in Suseong-gu, Daegu, South Korea.
She has been considered The Goddess of Limbo, and she has been roommates with Subin during her trainee days. She loves cats. Aeji exited the group with Dajeong on March 21, 2023.
Debut
HASHTAG debuted in the third generation of K-Pop. The girls debuted as a seven-member group which later on became five members. On October 11, 2017, Hashtag made their debut with an EP. Baby V.O.X’s former member Kan Mi Yeon helped curate this group.
They are currently being managed by the LUK factory and are also signed under Wannbe Entertainment. The label ZENTI has also debuted the girls in a sub-unit- Purple. Here members Subin, Seungmin, and former member Dajeong debuted with a digital single, Maemmaeya, in 2018.
The girls have been signed under Wannabe Entertainment since December 28, 2022. And it is said that former members Dajeong and Aeji did not quit the group but were expelled, the decisions of which were taken by the company itself.

Songs and Albums
HASHTAG first debuted with The Girl Next Door as their debut mini-album in October of 2017. The mini album has six tracks beginning with the first intro track, followed by the second track of Hue. Track three is Like That, and track four is Hz. Track five is titled When It Rains, while track six is an instrumental of the second track, Hue.
In 2018, HASHTAG’s sub-unit Purple released a single track called Maemmaeya. The following year on April 16, 2019, the girls released their second mini album, #Aeji #paSsion which had five tracks, starting with the intro track, the second track being Freesm. Track three was Love Game, and track four was titled Hello This Night. The final track was the instrumental for Freesm.
Later in the year, the girls had a comeback on October 1, 2019, with their digital single, My Style.
