Bandai Namco Entertainment America has officially announced the release date for GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, a new action-focused entry in the long-running Gundam franchise. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, the game introduces an entirely new timeline where humanity is struggling to survive an unknown threat known as the Apocalypse.
GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT launches on March 5, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Preorders are already available across Standard, Launch, Deluxe, and Collector’s Editions, giving players several options ahead of release.
A newly released release-date trailer also provides a closer look at the game’s story, characters, customizable Mobile Suits, and a mysterious black Mobile Suit with glowing red eyes. At the center of the adventure is the Gundam Helix, piloted by the ace pilot RE-X.
GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT Features Gundam Helix, Custom Combat and a New Story
RE-X will be accompanied by Vii, a Haro unit designed specifically for the Gundam Helix. Vii functions as a general-purpose intelligent assist unit as the pair battles the Apocalypse across different locations throughout the solar system.
The story will introduce several other characters, each with their own connection to RE-X and the ongoing conflict. Sofia is a mysterious young woman monitoring RE-X, while April serves as captain of the Stellarvane, an independent special-duty vessel conducting missions against the Apocalypse.
The game also features Big Paul, the leader of a group of sand pirates who fight the Apocalypse while raiding wealthy transports and distributing supplies to settlers. Elaine is another major figure, serving as a knight commander and highly skilled Mobile Suit pilot who personally leads her forces into battle.

Combat is designed around extensive Mobile Suit customization. Players can modify the Gundam Helix with different weapons, frames, thrusters, and Apocalypse Units, or AP-U, while also choosing their preferred color scheme.
Each weapon has its own actions and skills, allowing players to develop different approaches to combat. Battles take place across expansive ground and aerial environments, giving customization and equipment choices a direct role in how players handle encounters.
Preordering GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT also provides an early unlock for the Earth Blue color customization. The Standard Edition contains the base game, while the Launch Edition adds reversible cover art, an 11-by-17-inch poster, and a Gundam Card Game promotional card.
The Deluxe Edition includes the base game, Premium Mod Skins Set, Mobile Suit Color Pack 14-Color Set, Digital Artwork & Music Selection, and Mission Reward Booster. The Collector’s Edition combines the Launch Edition contents with the complete Digital Deluxe package in a steel case, alongside an exclusive HG 1/144 ARK-10 GUNDAM HELIX Earth Blue version model kit and five Gundam Card Game promotional cards.
With its new Gundam timeline, original cast, customizable Mobile Suit combat, and solar-system-spanning story, GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is shaping up as a standalone action experience for fans and newcomers alike ahead of its March 2027 release.
