The ongoing Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks are reportedly taking a toll on Rockstar Games employees, with developers said to be “frustrated and exhausted” as new gameplay footage continues to appear online. The latest leak, attributed to a group or individual using the name CyberLeek, has reportedly become a major internal concern just months before the game’s planned November release.

According to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, Rockstar has yet to identify the person or group behind the latest leaks or determine exactly how the footage was obtained. Sources told Schreier that the situation inside the studio has led to “frustration, exhaustion, [and] anger.”

Rockstar Faces Another Major Security Challenge

The new leaks are particularly frustrating because Rockstar tightened its security practices following the massive GTA 6 breach in 2022. The earlier incident led to dozens of videos from an unfinished version of the game appearing online and caused Rockstar to introduce stricter workplace security policies.

Some employees are especially upset that another significant leak has happened despite those measures.

The latest footage has reportedly shown various activities involving protagonist Jason and has circulated under CyberLeek branding. Take-Two Interactive has also escalated its response by seeking information from Microsoft and Discord through legal action in an attempt to identify those responsible.

Take-Two’s subpoenas seek information connected to accounts allegedly involved in distributing the leaked material. The publisher is attempting to identify potential copyright infringers as leaked footage continues to spread across social media and other platforms.

For Rockstar’s development team, the situation represents another unwanted distraction during the final stages of work on one of gaming’s most anticipated releases. While Rockstar has not announced a delay to its planned marketing schedule, the continuing leaks have added further pressure as Grand Theft Auto 6 moves closer to launch.
