The long-running gold prospecting series Gold Rush Season 14 on Discovery Channel is an incredible ride filled with exploration, difficulties, rivalries, and unexpected happenings. The network never would have predicted that the show would be so successful and lead to so many spinoffs when they first produced it.
With season 14, everything is bigger. The tools, obstacles, dramas, egos, and land plots that beg to be explored in pursuit of precious metals and the riches that come with mining the land are all larger.
Rick Ness is back this season, Parker is placing big bets, and Tony Beets is having a lot of equipment issues. That’s the main idea of the show, though, so we’ll have to wait and see. It will be entertaining to see these guys extract all the gold from beneath the surface.
Recap Of The Show
Digging deep into his pocketbook, Parker Schnabel devised a plan to tear up his four acres in three days, working twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. It’s risky and prone to crew fatigue and equipment failure, but if he strikes gold, the benefits may be enormous.
Unexpected things happened, and machines broke down as expected. The access road to the land was flooded, and a truck had a bent skid plate. Parker and his team handled everything expertly, though, because they wouldn’t let anything stand in the way of the money.
In this episode, do they locate gold? Sure. However, it was Chris Roots who discovered some in the fine tailings next to the gold chamber, finding a scant nine ounces. Nothing happened—no drama, no injuries.
After Tony Beets transported all of his heavy equipment to the Indian River Claim—a barren, windy, muddy region with difficult roads where the equipment skidded and caused the team to shout and curse more than a drunken sailor—the show turned its focus to him.
After Zee leaves to go home, the focus of the show switches to Rick Ness, leaving us to wonder who will prepare his food. Rick goes to Parker Schnabel—whom he hasn’t seen in a very long time—after Morgan flat tires and begs for assistance in getting a new tire. Despite the previous issues, Parker is a gentleman, assists him, and assures Rick Ness that they will eventually work out the cost.
