Christopher Judge, the voice of Kratos in the modern God of War games, has praised Sony’s Santa Monica Studio for the way it treats its fanbase. Speaking during a panel at Fan Expo Boston, Judge specifically pointed to the upcoming remake of the original Greek God of War trilogy and the decision to bring back the original Kratos voice actor, TC Carson, as an example of the studio respecting the franchise’s history.

Judge discussed the subject with Collider’s Steve Weintraub during the panel. He said the decision ensures Carson’s contribution to the character is not forgotten, while also giving longtime fans and newcomers another opportunity to experience the original trilogy.

The comments come after Sony and Santa Monica Studio confirmed in February 2026 that God of War, God of War II, and God of War III are being remade for PS5. The project remains in the early stages, with no release date announced. PlayStation Blog

Christopher Judge praises Santa Monica’s approach to fans

Judge was particularly enthusiastic about Santa Monica’s relationship with its audience, arguing that developers should listen to the people supporting their games.

“They actually respect the fans. Like, it’s not that hard of a thing to do.”

He added that players are effectively inviting companies into their homes when they purchase their products, making respect for their feedback especially important.

Judge also praised the decision to have Carson return as Kratos for the Greek trilogy remake. Carson originally voiced Kratos throughout the classic games before Judge took over the role for 2018’s God of War and God of War Ragnarök.

“I’m glad that TC isn’t forgotten because where we are now is because of TC Carson and how magnificent he is.”

Sony has confirmed that the remake will revisit the original Greek trilogy, although detailed gameplay information has yet to be revealed. Earlier comments from the judge indicated that the project could include a new fighting system, new technology, and additional content, although Santa Monica Studio has not formally detailed those features. Meanwhile, Judge will continue as Kratos in other projects, including God of War: Laufey, which is scheduled to launch on PS5 on February 16, 2027. The Greek trilogy remake has yet to receive a release window.
