Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games have yet to announce Horizon 3 officially, but fresh comments from two well-known PlayStation industry figures have reignited speculation about the next chapter in Aloy’s story.

During a recent discussion, God of War creator David Jaffe and former IGN editor Colin Moriarty claimed they had spoken with people who had already played the unannounced game, suggesting development may be further along than many fans expected.

While neither individual identified their sources, both have longstanding connections within the gaming industry. Their remarks should still be treated as unverified until Guerrilla Games or PlayStation makes an official announcement.

Industry Figures Share Early Impressions of the Rumored Sequel

Speaking during a Last Stand Media stream, Jaffe and Moriarty discussed what they had reportedly heard from early testers and mock reviewers. They added that the feedback they received was largely positive.

Jaffe said those who had played the game described it as “really, really good,” but added that it also felt “very familiar.” According to him, the sequel appears to build directly on the formula established by the previous entries rather than reinventing it.

Moriarty echoed those sentiments, saying his own sources shared similar impressions, suggesting longtime fans should expect more of the exploration, machine combat, and open-world gameplay that have defined the franchise.

The comments align with the success of the previous games. Horizon Zero Dawn, released in 2017, introduced players to Aloy’s post-apocalyptic world and became one of PlayStation’s most acclaimed exclusives. Its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, launched in 2022 and expanded the series with new regions, underwater exploration, improved traversal mechanics, and additional robotic enemies.

Although Guerrilla Games has not confirmed a third mainline installment, the release pattern of the first two games has led many fans to speculate that Horizon 3 could arrive sometime in 2027.

For now, the latest information remains unofficial. Jaffe and Moriarty both emphasized that their comments were based on conversations with early testers rather than direct confirmation from Sony or Guerrilla Games. Until the studio reveals its future plans, Horizon 3 remains one of PlayStation’s most anticipated unannounced projects.
