Go! Go! Loser Ranger! is going on hiatus once again. Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine announced in its 32nd issue that creator Negi Haruba will temporarily pause serialization of the dark tokusatsu-inspired manga due to health concerns. The series is currently expected to resume publication sometime in August 2026, marking its second hiatus of the year as Haruba continues to prioritize his recovery.
A Series That Has Faced Multiple Hiatuses
This is not the first time, Go! Go! Loser Ranger! has gone on hiatus because of Negi Haruba’s health. Earlier this year, the manga paused on February 18 before returning on March 18, when it officially began its final story arc. The latest break comes as the series moves toward its finale.

The publication schedule has been interrupted several times since 2025. The manga first paused for two issues early that year before resuming in March. Another month-long hiatus followed in May 2025, with serialization restarting in June. On each occasion, Kodansha confirmed that the breaks were temporary and intended to give Haruba time to recover, while assuring fans that the story itself remained on track.
After the February hiatus, the manga’s official social media account shared an update saying Haruba’s condition was improving and that he was expected to return for the next scheduled issue. The latest announcement follows the same approach, with Kodansha confirming that the manga is expected to resume sometime in August 2026.
The Final Arc Continues to Raise the Stakes
Go! Go! Loser Ranger!, known in Japan as Sentai Daishikkaku, offers a fresh take on the classic superhero formula made famous by franchises such as Super Sentai and Kamen Rider. Instead of following the heroes, the story focuses on the defeated Monster Army and exposes the hidden truth behind the world’s celebrated protectors.
The series reveals that the alien invasion ended within its first year, but the defeated monsters have been forced to stage fake weekly battles so the Divine Dragon Rangers can maintain their heroic image. Tired of living a lie, one monster decides to fight back from within the system, setting the stage for a story filled with deception, revenge, and moral conflict.
Haruba, who is also the creator of The Quintessential Quintuplets, launched the manga in February 2021. Since then, the series has been collected into 18 tankōbon volumes. Its darker take on superhero storytelling has earned praise from fans and critics, with anime director Keiichi Satō previously comparing its themes to The Boys because of its focus on flawed heroes and an anti-hero protagonist.
The Anime Continues While the Manga Takes a Break
Although the manga is temporarily on hold, the Go! Go! Loser Ranger! anime continues to expand the franchise’s audience. Produced by Yostar Pictures and directed by Keiichi Satō, the first season premiered in 2024, followed by a second season in April 2025.
The anime is available internationally through Disney+ and Hulu, introducing the series to viewers around the world. Meanwhile, Kodansha USA Publishing continues to release the manga in English, allowing overseas readers to follow the story alongside its Japanese publication.
For now, fans will have to wait a little longer before the final arc continues. Kodansha has confirmed that the manga is expected to return sometime in August 2026, giving Haruba additional time to focus on his health before resuming work on the series.
