This is something that is required for Fireren and her party to go through to reach their final destination as they won’t be allowed unless they are a First Class Mage. The latest predicament also saw Sein leaving the party to go on his own adventure and fans couldn’t have been more satisfied with the decision.

Recap And Review
With Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Episode 18, the narrative moves forward and as we see Frieren and Fern arrive at the Kuhl region, the tournament to being the First Class Mage is taking place and thus, they decide to take it.
Since it was two months before they had to take the test, Frieren and her party began preparing for the test. Meanwhile, the episode also saw some other candidates, such as a mage named Ubel who had been fighting with the bandits until an elf arrived straying the bandits away.
It was revealed that Ubel had killed some bandits and this is probably the reason he was in a fight with them. Meanwhile, the elf was excited to meet Frieren at the last location and these two also arrived for the test. As the day of the test arrives, the examiner separates the group into the group of 3.
Frieren and Fern are assigned into different with the latter being teamed up with Ubel. The former is teamed up with some other girls who are good at using magic but are constantly bickering with each other. As the first task has been assigned which involves capturing a Stile bird, Frieren finds a good way to use her partner’s magic.
