Fantasy Island is back for next season, and those staying at the lavish resort will again start exploring some of their wildest fantasies. Roselyn Sanchez comes back as Elena Roarke, the daughter of the original Mr. Roarke from Fantasy Island. This Fantasy Island reboot maintains the same basic idea as the original series from the 1970s, with new guests visiting each week who bring their own personal baggage. These characters want to attain a peaceful resolution about themselves at the end of the episodes.
Fantasy Island is a modern drama series set at a luxury resort where guests can have any fantasy they want to be fulfilled, yet these requests rarely come true as expected. Each episode explores the large and tiny “what if” questions that keep us up at night by telling emotional, thought-provoking stories of individuals who arrive on Fantasy Island with goals and wishes and leave transformed and wiser because of the island’s magical realism. News of the show’s renewal for a second season broke as the first season finale aired in September. And we know you definitely wouldn’t want to miss the Second Season of Fantasy Island.
Fantasy Island Season 1 Ending Recap
At the end of Season 1, Jasper is ultimately interrupted by Elena, who confronts him and sends him back to the afterlife he has been trapped in. He finds it difficult to see his mistakes until Elena reveals all the fraud and deception he was involved in. Jasper is immediately teleported back to face Ramon. Jasper makes an attempt to apologize, but Ramon is not having any of it. Jasper eventually meets Mel after Ramon leaves. The two end up together, discussing their own issues, and golf clubs appear by themselves as well. As fate would have it, Mel’s knowledge allows Jasper to apologize to Ramon this time properly, which is exactly what they both needed.
Jasper asks Elena for help in collecting each and every painting Ramon has created and hanging them up across his gallery. Jasper confesses that he loves Ramon like something of a son and convinces the boy to use his blessing and not waste it. While waiting for midnight to strike and their time to come to an end, Ramon decides that this is enough to soften up with him and forgive him.
Meanwhile, Mel spends his remaining free time with Ruby. During this moment, when they cuddle in bed, she also goes back to her elderly self. Mel advises her to live her own life and be happy with who she is and their shared experiences. When the clock strikes midnight, Mel and Jasper both pass away and, presumably, enter Heaven. Although it isn’t stated officially, it appears that this is what happened. Elena does her hardest to speak with Fernando as they go. But he won’t have any of it, and as the wind grows stronger, Elena ends up with a scar on her face and wilted roses. That’s obviously a no, then!
Ruby makes the decision to remain on the island while Jasper and Mel are gone. Elena is doing a good job, according to a note from Tio, who also begs her to give Fernando some space for the time being because he’s still not ready. Ruby, who is now formally known as Elena’s right-hand woman, interrogates her about Fernando’s identity. Elena reveals that she is engaged and about to depart the island at the moment. The island was upset and attacked when Fernando took over to fill her position. This explains his anger toward Elena while still providing room for more exploration in the second season.

Fantasy Island Season 2 Release Date
The original plan was for the second season to return to television this summer, which makes some sense given the lighter tone of the show. However, the network decided to go in the opposite direction last month, choosing to save it for the fall. The show has now been postponed once more. It’d almost seem strange to release such a tropical series in the winter, but maybe that’s what Fox is trying to go for this time. Unfortunately, it is not on the network’s fall schedule, so the earliest we could see its release is at some point in early 2023.
We’ve heard network executives mention how excited they are to see some of the guest stars in the past when speaking about this season of the show. According to them, a show like this needs terrific characters popping up here and there. After all, you’re attempting to deal with a pretty small regular cast, and you need to figure out how to fill in the gaps however possible. We believe that part of the reason this show is delayed in ways that some others are not could simply be due to the fact that it is largely an independent production. It’s the kind of series that could air practically anywhere, so there’s never this worry about it airing too soon after the events of season 1.
Roselyn Sanchez On Fantasy Island Season 2 Release Date
Fans had already been upset when the Fantasy Island Season 2 premiere was pushed back from May 31 to the fall 2022 TV season. They may need to prepare themselves for some disappointment once more, as star Roselyn Sanchez shared an unexpected update on Tiktok. On July 13, the actress updated her TikTok followers on the status of Fantasy Island. She discussed the filming process and when viewers may expect the season 2 premiere in the minute-long video.
As Roselyn began the video, she said: “So, a minor thing. Everyone keeps asking when Fantasy Island season 2 will be released. We were originally scheduled to return in the summer, but the premiere date has been moved to midseason. So, let’s say it will be early January, alright?” She continued by promising the fans that the wait will be worthwhile. She believes that the second season will be simply magnificent. She is quite happy with it since it looks great and the stories are amazing.
Even while we hate having to wait, this isn’t the first show Fox moved to a midseason premiere. Fans of 9-1-1: Lone Star noted there wasn’t a season 4 premiere date when the network unveiled its fall lineup. This is due to the fact that the show will likely return in January 2023 after previously airing in the middle of the year. You can always catch up on Fantasy Island’s first season by streaming it on Hulu until season 2 premieres.
Fantasy Island Season 2 Cast
The primary cast of “Fantasy Island” will undoubtedly return for a second season. Roselyn Sanchez will reprise her role as Elena Roarke in season 2, as was previously mentioned. In addition to appearing in films like Rush Hour 2 and The Game Plan, Sanchez has also featured in television series including Grand Hotel and Devious Maids. In the role of Ruby Akuda, Kiara Barnes will join Sanchez as Elena Roarke’s assistant. Barnes doesn’t have many well-known roles in primetime television or films to her name, but fans of the daytime serial opera The Bold and the Beautiful will immediately recognize her as Zoe Buckingham.
John Gabriel Rodriquez, the captain of the plane that transports guests to and from the island, co-stars with these two women as Javier. The majority of Season 2 actors outside of the trio will presumably be guests, similar to Season 1’s guest stars. Michael Thorn, president of Fox Entertainment, stated in an interview that it has been fascinating for them to blend some of the stars they have in other shows and make other exciting twists on Fantasy Island. Thorn’s statements imply that Season 2 guest stars will probably come from other Fox shows. This implies that actors from shows like “9-1-1: Lone Star,” “The Resident,” and the sitcom “Call Me Kat” all have a chance of making surprise cameos on “Fantasy Island.”
Fantasy Island Season 2 Plot
The main theme of “Fantasy Island” will undoubtedly be carried over into the second season as it was in the first. Particularly, Fantasy Island is a location where people go to fulfill their wildest desires before realizing it’s not as easy as they had hoped. The main storyline of Ruby Akuda adjusting to the isolation of the island and being separated from the rest of her family will undoubtedly be focused upon in the second season. It will probably also focus on Elena Roarke’s struggle with choosing between dedicating her life to the island and living on her own, potentially with Javier.
Most of the season’s stories are introduced and concluded within one episode because the show itself has a more procedural structure. Therefore, it would be impossible to predict what the Fantasy Island guests will do or how the island will guide them to what they need.
