The review roundup comes shortly after Famitsu celebrated its 40th anniversary, during which readers voted Nintendo as their favorite game developer. In a translated message shared by the company, Nintendo thanked fans for the recognition, saying,
“We are also extremely happy that Mario and The Legend of Zelda have been received favorably.”
The company reflected on its journey since the launch of the Famicom (NES) in 1983, adding that it has always pursued “originality” while striving to create entertainment that brings “smiles on customers’ faces.” Nintendo also congratulated Famitsu on its milestone and expressed hope for a continued partnership supporting the gaming industry.
