Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy is all set to start airing its season 22 this week. With a new, exciting plot and even an additional family member being added to the Griffins, this season is already off to a good start.
Fox first came out with Family Guy way back in January 1999, with it being an animated series that centers on the dysfunctional Griffins, who live in a fictional city based in Rhode Island. The interactions between Peter, Lois, Meg, Chris, Stewie, and Brian are often comical and meant to mock the American Culture.
Despite the multiple lawsuits (showing just how unhinged this show really is), Family Guy continues to be just as popular as it was back when it started having reruns on Cartoon Network. Its witty adult jokes and hilarious scenes between the eccentric characters are the reasons why Family Guy has always maintained its special place in the world of animated adult sitcoms.
Family Guy Season 21: Recap
Season 21 of Family Guy began with the “Oscars Guy” episode, where we see Family Guy retelling iconic movies’ storylines, including American Beauty, Forrest Gump, and others. This was followed by the Griffins taking a much-needed break with a road trip that ended with them trying to rent a VHS in Oregon.
After being gifted an SUV, Stewie becomes the stereotypical Range Rover guy. One of the most memorable episodes from Season 21 had to be the episode titled “The Munchurian Candidate,” where Lois hypnotizes Peter into satisfying her sexual desires. It ends in the worst possible way after Peter ends up going down on his own Mother-in-law.
The last few episodes of Family Guy season 21 featured Lois being blocked from a popular vacation application as she was caught trying to steal things from other families during the time the Griffins were in Nantucket. Stewie and Brian get ahold of a large amount of Saltwater Taffy, and the only thing that comes to their mind is making big bucks by selling these door-to-door.
Season 21 ends with Meg being married to a random guy in Russia, only for her to leave him after a heartbreaking revelation that she was just used for a green card. Chris and Principal Shepherd were caught making NSFW videos right at the High School.
Family Guy Season 22: Episode Schedule
Brand new episodes of Family Guy’s season 22 are set to start airing on October 1, 2023. A single episode of this fun adult sitcom will be coming out every Sunday, with each having a run time of 22-23 minutes. Like all of its previous seasons, Family Guy is likely going to have a total of 20 episodes for this new season.

Family Guy season 22 will start with Meg agreeing to become a surrogate for Bruce and Jeffery, only for them to straight up forget to take their baby once Meg gives birth. This delay leads to the Griffins trying to take care of the new child, who’s kind of also a part of their family for now.
We’ve been seeing only Peter, Lois, and their children for a while now, so it’ll be exciting to see how everyone reacts to having a new temporary member in their family. In another episode, Joe and Brian feel confident enough in their abilities to develop a crime novel.
They’ve got a collection of police stories that could help with their new objective. As for Peter, he loses his old job for a while since the place he worked at is under construction. After Lois forces him to get back to work, Peter ends up with an annoying grocery store job.
Family Guy Season 22: Streaming Guide
Fox will be airing the episodes of Family Guy Season 22, with new episodes being released at around 9:30 pm ET & 8:30 pm CT for viewers from the US. Besides this, on-demand streaming of Family Guy’s episodes is possible through Hulu and Fox’s website(previous seasons).
