The story of Endroll Back follows the suicide of the main character, Asaharu’s sister, Yuka. She is a victim of bullying. After his sister’s demise, her brother Asaharu becomes disappointed in himself. However, an angel comes to his life, offering him a deal.
If Asaharu is able to find his sister’s murderer within three months, she can be resurrected. However, for every wish granted, nothing is done without compensation. If Asaharu messes up or makes a mistake in searching for the murderer of her sister, his life expectancy will decrease.
The game begins as Asaharu accepts the deal, and he is transferred to his high school but as an assistant to the homeroom teacher.
However, before the angel could elaborate on the rules of the game which Asaharu signed up for, he grabbed one guy by the neck because he was the one that Asaharu thought bullied Yuka. He slits his throat, but the angel calls Asaharu an idiot. We see Asaharu in front of the classroom, and the boy he just killed has been revived.
However, Asaharu felt a sharp pain, and soon he realized the conditions of the game, which were that if messed up, ten years would be deducted from his life span. So with this, the fun begins again.
Endroll Back Chapter 3: Recap
Asaharu kills Shimizu Akane, but she is not the murderer of his sister. As a result, Asaharu’s life expectancy reduces. Asaharu then picks up a new skill called object duplication which allows him to duplicate objects. For instance, a phone will get duplicated with all its data. If a text is sent on a real phone, the same happens in the duplicate. However, screens cannot be duplicated; if the camera is open in the real phone, the duplicate one will not follow the same idea and open the camera.
Asaharu starts his introduction and realizes that the reason he lost is that he rushed things too far. To be able to find the one who murdered Yuka, he will have to take things slow, and he has three months to find out the culprit. He will bring back Yuka no matter what. He follows his routine of meeting Himeno Saeki, conversing with one of his colleagues, and then meeting the three basketball players, including Shimizu.
So far, things have occurred the same way as in the previous loop. He meets one of the girls who used to be friends with her as a freshman. She tells him to organize a teacher’s meeting so things can be solved. She tells him that, in the end, the teachers do not care about the students. Then she immediately took her to leave. The angel tells Asaharu that Shimizu has nothing to do with this anymore, but Asaharu is on a mission to restore the relationship that Shimizu and his sister had in his freshmen year.
Through his duplication ability, he duplicates Shimizu’s phone and finds out that Yuka likes keychains. Akane had gifted her a keychain which she hung by her school bag. Asaharu plans on learning why Shimizu bullied Yuka, and it seems that she did it as a last resort. Asaharu bumps into Shimizu, picks up her phone, and then gives it to her but tells her that if she ever needs someone to talk to, he will be there.
Akane saves Yuka from being bullied in the basketball room. After practice is over, she is seen cleaning the place herself because she was ordered to, and everyone left home. Akane helps Yuka out and says that she does not mind helping her out.
While Yuka was going through her bag, Akane got a message stating that she should bring Yuka to the 3rd-floor empty classroom and make sure she did not run away. They indirectly even threaten Shimizu. They had stolen something from Yuka’s bag and said that they would give it back to her if she came to the old building. They had taken a keychain from Yuka. She tells Akane that she will not run away from them because she does not know what they will do to Akane.
As they enter the old classroom, we see Nami holding a bat and Sumire sitting on a chair. Nami tells Sumire to close the doors and then shows the keychain to Yuka. It was a keychain Shimizu gave to her. Yuka would get the keychain only if she quit basketball. After much blackmailing, Yuka decided to quit the basketball team and get the keychain because it was important to her. However, if she kept getting it to school, Akane might have got a bad rep, so she did not hang it by the school bag handle. Nami then tells Yuka that she does not need her right arm anymore because her quitting basketball. She is also an eyesore to the team, so it would be good riddance. She could not quit basketball out of the blue, so Nami was going to break her right arm as a legitimate cause for quitting basketball.
Akane retorts but is overpowered by Nami. She tells Akane to keep watching. Both Nami and Sumire smirk, and as Yuka is about to run away, Sumire grabs her and restrains her. As Nami is about to hit Yuka with the bat, Shimizu stopped her and cried because Yuka only keeps thinking about Shimizu even when she is being bullied. Nami gets agitated and is about to hit Shimizu, but Asaharu breaks the windows with a glass and interrupts because Shimizu calls for help.
Asaharu tells them that this was a case of bullying, but both Nami and Sumire tell him that he does not know what happened because they are only talking and it was Asaharu who broke the windows. However, Asaharu had recorded the audio of them bullying Yuka due to his object duplication spell. As a result, both Nami and Sumire are called to the teacher’s office, where Asaharu uses his forced confession to understand why Nami bullied Yuka. Nami states that she wants Yuka, so she bullies her persistently.
