In April 2015, the production for the series was announced, and was given the project to Sky Italia/ Sky Studios and Canal+. The series is an Italian-French development. It was initially decided that the series will be consisting of 12 fifty-minute-long episodes and the series has potential for future seasons as well. The series is based on the 1966 movie of the same name Django directed by Sergio Corbucci. Matthias Schoenaerts was cast in the role of Django in February 2021. Later on, all the cast members were announced which include Noomi Rapace, Nicholas Pinnock, and Lisa Vicari.
The production companies worked and collaborated with Bucharest-based film to get permission to film in Romania. Filming for the series actually began in February 2021 but was initially decided to begin filming between November 2020 to December 2021. Django is considered to be the biggest television production in Romania to date. The design of the sets has been done by a scenographer Paki Meduri who also constructed New Babylon in Racos.

Django Episode 1 & 2: Release Date
The first two episodes of the series Django were screened at the Rome Film Festival on 16 October 2022. Django Epiosde 1 & 2 will be released on 17 February 2023. The audience is excited about this upcoming series and is waiting for what it has stored in it for them. The two episodes are directed by Francesca Comencini and both episodes have been written by Leonardo Fasoli and Maddalena Ravagli. Action lovers prepare yourself because you are getting some good fighting scenes this year.

What To Expect from Django?
The trailer release and including lines like, ‘You cannot outrun your past’ has left the audience guessing and excited about this upcoming television show. The story follows Django who is a gunslinger in the Wild West who is searching for his daughter. He believes that she escaped the family when being murdered many years ago. The titles of the episode are New Babylon, The Lady, Nagadoches, Fountainhead, Chambersburg, The Trial, The Giant, Tobacco Tin, Masquerade, and The Western Sea.
The first episode of the series is more than one hour long. The series has been set in the 1860s and 1870s when Sarah and John discovered New Babylon. New Babylon is a city where all outcasts live from all kinds of backgrounds. Django is still haunted by the murder of his family many years ago and is in search of his daughter.
He believed that his daughter may have survived and escaped. Django to his surprise finds her in New Babylon she is a grown-up now and is about to marry John. Her name is Sarah. Django is confirmed that the city is some kind of danger and does not want to leave his daughter and put her in danger twice.

How to Watch Django?
Django will be available on Sky Atlantic for audiences residing in the United Kingdom. The audience residing in France can binge-watch the series on Canal+.
