The newest chapter 414 of the popular manga series My Hero Academia is scheduled for release on Monday, February 19th, 2024. Prior to the official release, story spoilers and plot details have surfaced online giving fans an early glimpse.
In the previous installment, the character Kudo learned about a serious injury sustained by the villain Shigaraki during an intense fight against another hero named Star and Stripe.
This gave Kudo the idea to exploit that wound as an access point to transfer the special ability of One For All into Shigaraki, enabling the vestiges to potentially defeat the villain from within.
The latest spoilers reveal that the protagonist Deku is moving forward with reluctantly attempting to transfer his Gearshift Quirk power to Shigaraki through the villain’s wound.
However, Deku has been progressively losing more control over his own Quirks. Therefore, he would need to quickly attack and transfer the ability to Shigaraki in a very short window of opportunity.
Vestiges Impressed by Deku’s Clever Moves Amid Doubts on Risky Plan
The spoilers open with the vestiges – the spiritual remnants of previous One For All wielders – expressing awe and shock at protagonist Deku’s ingenious application of the Black Whip’s ability to manipulate his own body.
This was only a theoretical idea earlier, but Deku rapidly put it into practice. The vestige Kudo praises Deku for not simply following orders but creatively utilizing his deep knowledge of Quirks to maximize One For All’s potential.
However, Deku harbors doubts about the risky plan to transfer his Gearshift power to arch-villain Shigaraki, even as he reluctantly goes along with it.
Without Gearshift, Deku would be unable to match Shigaraki’s speed.
To have any chance of successfully infiltrating and transferring the Quirk, Deku would need to attack swiftly in a very small window of opportunity.
More From My Hero Academia Chapter 414
Meanwhile, villain Tomura Shigaraki was growing suspicious of Deku’s motives, harboring an uneasy feeling that the young hero had some cunning scheme in mind following their last clash.
However, determined to carry out his mission of total destruction, Shigaraki resolved to continue his assault undeterred.
Right after this moment of hesitation, Deku and Shigaraki charged straight toward their next confrontation.
Deku cleverly unleashed his Smokescreen Quirk to obscure Shigaraki’s vision, while the villain responded by decaying the ground with his disintegration touch.
But Deku managed to protect himself by utilizing Black Chains to rapidly tear away a massive section of earth before the Decay could reach him.
Just then, Shigaraki’s Danger Sense quirk warned him that One For All was approaching from behind.
However, it turned out to be a deception – the silhouette rushing toward him was actually Gran Torino’s cape, manipulated through Deku’s Black Whip ability.
Shigaraki noticed a drop of blood on the whip, realizing this was a diversionary trap. But it was too late. Concealed within the smoke, Deku had already closed in right next to him.
Although the vestiges inside Deku exposed his location, he had reached the point of no return. Committing fully, Deku landed a solid punch directly into Shigaraki’s chest, succeeding in transferring the Gearshift power.
The vestige Kudo knew he had to act swiftly before being consumed. Like a meteor, Kudo plunged into Shigaraki’s inner spiritual world, ready to battle for control in the next phase of the high-stakes plan.
As vestige Kudo wreaked havoc inside Shigaraki’s spiritual realm, Deku glimpsed flashes of Shigaraki’s memories, including his first meetings with Dabi, Toga, and Spinner.
The visions then jumped to Todoroki unleashing his flames at the sports festival, demonstrating that Izuku and Shigaraki’s minds were beginning to blend together.
Witnessing this confirmation that their strategy was succeeding, the sixth One For All user, En, urged Deku to press the attack while the vestiges still had the advantage.
Spurred on by this, Deku steadied himself to continue the plan by transferring another One For All ability to infiltrate Shigaraki.
About My Hero Academia
The vibrant world of My Hero Academia is populated by around 80% of people who have developed extraordinary abilities known as Quirks.
These superhuman powers that can be inherited genetically showcase an immense diversity in strength and function.
Among this community of Quirk-wielders are noble Heroes who utilize their skills in service of aiding disaster response teams and apprehending Villains who criminally employ their own abilities.
Heroes with particularly exceptional track records fighting crime can earn celebrity status as Pros.
Quantitative ranking systems measure a Hero’s popularity, although up-and-coming rookie Heroes also often draw public admiration.
Initially, those who took heroic initiative fighting Villains without formal permission were dubbed Vigilantes.
However, laws enforced by the Hero Public Safety Commission now forbid acting as an unsanctioned Vigilante even while studying to become a licensed Hero.
Despite the unlawful essence of vigilantism, the moral reputation of Vigilantes remains complex and debatable.
In the past, they cooperated with the Commission handling tasks eventually considered too problematic for unofficial operatives.
